Quality product but practice first.,November 10, 2009
By lance1alotfrom Amelia,Oh
"I purchase the saddle and am sold on the idea. However, it is a little hard to get used to. You definitely need practice and a stable platform to use effectively. Another drawback is if you have knee problems. it's hard on your knees. I'm getting a total knee replacement in 3 weeks and plan on using the saddle exclusively next season."

love it!!!,November 8, 2009
By diggsfrom Northern Wisconsin
"have used the tree saddle for almost a full season now. I sat in it a couple times before season started like the instructional video suggested to get used to it. It took me a couple days of hunting from it before i got comfortable using it and maneuvering around the tree with it. I have liked it more and more every time i use it. Next year i will be hunting exclusively with the saddle. Product is extremely well designed and built. I also feel way safer with it than using any tree stand. One tip I recommend is watching John Eberhart's Bow Hunting Pressured Whitetails DVD. He has a bunch of helpful tips in his video on how to set up trees for use with the saddle. Superior advantage over hunting from conventional tree stands. I could go on and on about what a great product this is, but forget it, I'm going to the woods. Happy hunting everybody."

Saddle Time,October 22, 2009
By CC12009from Eastern Shore, Md
"I've used the saddle multiple times since the season started 9-15-09 and I love it. Very comfortable to sit all day. I've had deer all around me and under me and they didn't know I was there. I've walked around the tree and used it as cover for approaching deer. Knee pads are a must as I spend alot of time in the sitting position with my knees resting against the tree. It is not as easy to move around the tree 360 degrees as it looks in videos I've seen. I will keep on practicing. The saddle is a different concept and takes practice to get used to it. Don't give up. You will love it like I do. The mobility is one of the best features. If you see where the deer are continually moving you can move into that area. It has definitely changed my hunting."

tree saddle,September 8, 2009
By stevo68from Rhode Island
"Excellent product, last year I hunted my land with a latter stand and I kept thinking of how nice a lineman's belt would be and when I saw this set up I bought it. Years ago I was trained as a lineman for an electric utility company and I became comfortable on a pole, but I wasn't at first. Its the same with this saddle you have to practice with it and become comfortable before you go into the woods. If Cabela's had offered the ambush saddle I would have gotten it since its lighter and I'm sure will do the same great job, but I'm not complaining. I'm glad I bought this product."

Great stand,August 19, 2009
By bwhntrbkyefrom marysville,ohio
"This stand has allowed me to add more stand sites to my property by just adding steps to the trees. It is comfortable, quiet and you wear it into the field, so set up is fast and easy. I had a two man tree stand stolen two years ago, so there is also an element of tree stand security also. This stand also adds a 360 degree angle to shoot, is really comfortable for long days in the stand, and most important is very portable to change stand sites to follow deer traffic, and goes where other stands simply cant. I will use this as my main stand and it has changed the way I am able to hunt. It takes a few times of wearing it, to get used to its set up and shooting out of it, but well worth looking into. Every hunter should have this as part of their hunting gear!"

Good Buy,April 12, 2009
By draymond4from Michigan & Connecticut
"Hits: versatility, can go in virtually any tree w/ any lean. Safety, once your hooked in you feel very safe, silent (as long as you put electrical tape around the heavy duty buckles on the straps). Can keep the tree between you and the deer. Seat acts like a wind breaker and an added layer of warmth in the cold. in the right tree can be very comfortable. Can wear it into the woods-very convenient. I've used this as a safety harness to cut limbs from a tree in my yard as well.
Misses: The strap that holds you in can get in the way. You tend to move more b/c not as comfortable as a traditional treestand (but you can adjust yourself), can't use in trees bigger than 2 feet dia or so at the height your hunting from (strap is too short). When it's wet, it takes a long time to dry.
Overall I do reccomend-I've harvested alot of deer out of mine and the hits definately outweight the misses. You do have to get used to it. Once you do, you won't want to change.
Last piece of advice: if you get this, make sure you have a headlamp...I've found it makes hooking in, in the dark 200% easier than trying to hold a flashlight in your mouth."

Trophy line tree saddle,February 4, 2009

"I bought the tree saddle this year and loved it. I shot my first blacktail out of it this year with my bow. Once you get used to using it the stand is very comfortable. I dont know if I would use it as an all day stand, but for 3 to 4 hours at a time I would recommend this stand to anyone."

Every good hunter should own one,December 2, 2008
By buckhuntnut72from Hillsboro, Ohio
"Tree saddles are amazingly versatile and compact. I love mine, and would highly recommend it. I prefer it to climbers for those of us who are changing stand placements often, especially in areas with high hunting pressure. The last thing you want to do is stick out like a sore thumb in the tree. As well, one replaces all the hang-ons you'll ever use.
The two draw backs I found were that it can be difficult to draw your bow to your right hand side, I would recommend dropping draw weight a couple pounds. And second, is that it will get a little crampy in the groin region after four or five hours. But going to the standing position for a while will fix that easy enough."

Tree Saddler,November 21, 2008
By BowSpyfrom NJ
"I love this product. I have been using it for about a month, and the more I use it, the better I get with it. I love the mobility that it offers me. I love hanging on the tree and being able to use it as cover. On two occasions I have had a set of five does walk within feet of my tree and not even give me a glance. I honestly feel that the tree saddle played a large part in this. I have been in stands where they can pick you out and even if you don't move they know that something is not right. The deer know the woods better than you think. I am 5'7" and 170 pounds. This product is great for me but I could see someone who is larger may not be as comfortable. Overall great product and I would recommend to anyone!"

The best portable tree stand,November 6, 2008
By muttloveJfrom Hudson Falls, New York
"simply the best piece of equipment I have bought in a long time. I have used two other types of climbing stands including the lone wolf. Nothing can compare to this for portability, comfortableness, and optimal positioning for the shot. Your tree selection is no longer limited to a certain size or straightness. I have combined it with lone wolf climbing sticks and can't imagine using anything else. With minimal practice you will be comfortable and move with ease.
The down side. For the price it should include the optional knee pads which I would recommend."

"i shot a big doe with bow the first time I took this saddle into the woods. It is very comfortable once you are situated in tree. I setup tree ladder and used it to aid in the climb. this saddle is very comfortable and I look forward to many more successful hunts in the upcoming months. I am 6ft and 260 lbs so it supports me just fine. I recomend it."

Well worth the money!!,October 27, 2008
By BabyHueyBowHunterfrom Altus, Oklahoma
"This is the first year that I used the tree saddle and it is well worth the price. I hunt on public land and after getting a few stands stolen, I bought the tree saddle and I am very impressed with it so far. It is more comfortable then it looks, go to the web site and watch the demo video prior to buying it. I'm a very big guy(6 ft / 300 lbs) and it feels very safe and is made of great materials. I would recommend that you practice shooting from it prior to going hunting. VERY VERSITAL!!!"

Love the Tree Saddle,October 22, 2008
By RidgetopHunterfrom Bloomington, IN
"This is a great product for hunting Whitetails. It does taking some getting use to and a little practice. You will have to get your trees ready before the season starts, but the extra mobility (360 degree shooting range) and in my opinion greater stealth is worth the extra effort. It actually feels safer to me than a tree stand. If I fall a sleep I know that I won't tumble off of a tree stand and dangle in my harness. This product is extremely comfortable and light weight, so you can throw it in the backpack and get deeper in the woods. I would recommend it to any serious deer hunter."

"This stand is by far the best stand i have ever sat in. It is the quietest the most comfortable and the most versitale stand i have ever owned. I have sat for over 6 hours in this stand at one time this year i have never been able to do that in any othe portable stand. I would strongly recommend this stand to anyone who is looking for a comfortable portable stand. It is definitely worth the money!"

Almost Perfect,September 25, 2008
By husker95from Minnesota
"1. The tree saddle weighs only 4 lbs. This is a big consideration for a public land hunter because I have to set up and take down every day. 2. Paired with my bucksteps, I have a good deal of mobility in the tree, and found a way to get an angle at any spot 360 degrees around me. However, some of the angles are not easy to get to, and it will take some practice before I can make the right decision on how to get turned on some of the harder shots. For example, I am a left hander, and when deer come in over my left shoulder, instead of turning left in the saddle, I may need to turn right or will not be able to square up enough to draw. So there is a learning curve. I missed a chance on a doe last night by turning the wrong way. 3. Comfort. I found the seat comfortable, and so long as you use it correctly it makes for easy hours hanging from the tree. If you are looking to lean your back against something, you'll have some trouble unless you have a branch nearby that you can use because you will always be facing the tree. Also, they sell some kneepads that are marketed to go with the tree saddle, and I recommend them or something. Your knees will be in constant contact with the tree, and it wears on you. If you want to take pressure off of your back, you can wrap your arms around the hanging straps. I actually put my feet on the steps, knees against the tree, wrapped my arms around the straps, leaned forward, and took a cat nap. 4. Quiet. This is the quietest stand you can find. All belts and neoprene, with only 4 metal parts - carabiner, buckle, hanging hook, and hanging hook loop. You can move with no worries about noise unless you are bumping against branches. 5. Concealment. When you are in resting position, you are very close to the trunk of the tree, and your outline is masked by the trunk and branches. 6. Convenience. The saddle comes with a good bag designed to carry the hanging strap. It also has pouches for 2 water bottles. You can put more stuff in the main pouch - there's plenty of room, and it has drawstring or magnetic closure so they are silent. There are also a number of loops around the belt, which work great for hanging things like a Thermacell! 7. Versatile. Because the saddle has only one attachment point and you stay close to the trunk, it can be accommodated on smaller trees, or trees with divided trunks, or trees that are not even close to straight. I was able to hunt an area yesterday that has only been used for blind hunting in the past because the trees would not accommodate a traditional stand.
I give it a solid 9.5 out of 10 (5 of 5 here). If there were better back support for extended lean-back seating, it would be a 10. If you are a hunter that has need of a stand that is portable, versatile, quiet, and agile, I would recommend adding a Tree Saddle to your arsenal"

Favorite piece of gear,September 17, 2008
By jlloydf13from Duluth, MN
"The first deer of last bow season spooked after my ladder stand creaked drawing my bow. It ran off before I could even draw. The second deer came in to my right, couldn't spin around to shoot in time and standing with back to tree, my elbow kept hitting the tree. Then got a TreeSaddle and love it. I was worried it wouldn't be comfortable enough for long sits, but I outsit the rest of my party in ladder stands by a couple hrs every day. Totally quiet to stand, then sit for variety. You're always tied to the tree so it feels safe and is plenty comfortable, some mid-afternoons its hard to stay awake! It's also much easier to set up new locations knowing I can stay behind the tree, then silently spin around it when i need to shoot. Mobility in the tree allows many more windows through branches as you can lean out, over, down, backwards, etc. Took 2 deer with it last year, from trees that couldn't take a ladder/climber...and never once missed one because of the Saddle. With this it's easy to set up pegs/climbers in 7-10 trees and not worry about someome stealing your stand...just check the wind and walk to the best location."
