Money well spent, November 9, 2009
By ndbbd from Eastern North Dakota

"I just want to tell everyone out there thinking of buying the Boss to do it. All these negative reviews about it made me almost not buy it. The assembly was easy as 1-2-3. some of the people said that the legs wouldnt screw in properly just didnt know how to do it. there seemed to me was a little gap between the leg and the torso so you had to push the torso area out to get rid of the gap and it screwed in perfectly. As far as my first time out with it, I put all the pieces back in the plastic that it came in while my wife took a blanket and added little holsters for each piece so it wouldn't bang around. works perfect. dont let the others deter you. Give it a shot and you will be happy with your decision"

Awsome in Kansas, August 30, 2009
    By RBuckster from Wamego KS

"The first time in use Nov 7, 2008 early Peak Rut, I can honestly say this decoy will almost always bring in Mature Bucks. Its life like size of an older class deer is a plus in keeping younger bucks from hanging around your setup. I rattled in and shot a 150 inch 9 point the first time in my stand. The deer postured then charged the decoy, it exploded apart but didnt break the deer ran 20 yards, stopped to look back at what he had just acomplished. other than being a little heavy and a little noisy to carry it is a great tool for the deer hunter that likes the most interaction with deer during pre rut and peak rut. The realistic look of this decoy up close or at a distance is hard to beat, thanks for a great product."

Way to LOUD, July 28, 2009
    By Quell from Southern Illinois

"Bought this last year. A wast of money IMO. It's huge and very LOUD and a pain to set up. It makes a lot of noise pulling the parts out of the body cavity to set up, n walking to your stand. The legs have threads at the top that slide into a hole in the cavity, then you have screw caps you twist on too the top part of the legs through the cavity...sometimes. Always had trouble with one leg, it kept falling off. Then the thing would fall over. Takes about 10 -15 mins to setup because of the bum leg and trying to be quiet. Putting everything back in the cavity was a pain to. This thing is way to loud and bulky. Would not recommend this for anyone. Used it a few times and each time no buc or does would come within 20 yards of it. Not for sure why though. Did I mention this thing was LOUD!!"

Flambeau Boss Buck, January 27, 2009
By esout349 from Stevens Point, WI

"The product seems to be a great investment. I have not put it to use yet, because I just purchased it this offseason. The only problem that I have seen so far is that the right side legs are tough to attach. The legs screw on inside the cavity like the top of a nalgiene bottle. The right side is hard to catch the threads so some force is needed. It could be just my decoy though. Otherwise, very life-like. I will be lining the cavity with some type of felt or something to quiet the carry in and out of the woods. Would recommend this product."

Flambeau Masters Series Buck decoy, January 27, 2009
    By redskin from Maryland

"Way too big. Would scare away all the bucks in my neck of the woods. Too heavy. Too hard to assemble. One of the front legs wouldn't tighten-up so he kept falling forward.
I guess that's why it was on sale so cheap!

    Great Product!!!!!!!!!!, January 6, 2009
By IndianaHunter78 from Fulton County. Kewanna,Indiana

"Great Decoy!!!!!!! The only problem is the left leg was a little hard to put on but once on it was fine. The head seems to want to fall off sometimes but can be fixed with clear tape of some sort. Worked great in the field. I had a 7 point and a 6 point come into the buck. sniff him and then walk off calmly. This was on January 2. So as you know in Indiana that is post rut with your bow... I could have easily shot these deer but was waiting on a bigger buck on our property. The wind could be a problem you have to find some sort of tie downs that would work good but other than those little problems a great product!!!!!! Will be getting the flambeau doe as awell to go with it!!"

Flambeau Masters Buck deer Decoy, December 23, 2008
    By wolffj from Anderson, MO

"Very good success when using this decoy. All sizes of deer will come into the meadow to look at him, and all you have to do is decide if you want that size. I do worry about other hunters should I hunt on public land as it looks real. Am using on my farm only now. Good product"

Does the job, but could be a little less noissy, December 15, 2008
    By Anonymous

"I recently took this decoy out to the field and it drew out a nice 7 point buck out of the woods.
The only thing is this decoy is very noisy when taking the parts out of the body cavity for set up.
Not sure how to fix it other that assembling it far from where you will position it. Otherwise you will alert anything within a few hundred feet, especially early morning.
I thought about lining the inside with felt or the like, but not sure what this would do as far as odor, since I keep it in the garage.
Another suggestion for the product is to provide a durable carrying bag with it (it doesnt come with one)
Overall, it did the job and thats why I gave it 4 stars.

    Buck Decoy, December 8, 2008
    By jjek from chesterfield, va

"The decoy brought out deer both pre and post rut into the fields well prior to dark and in range for good kills. Both does and bucks found the decoy very interesting. I would suggest that if using the decoy you have an exit stratigy that will allow you to exit the area on evening hunts withou alerting the deer that you are there as they wonder why the decoy does not head for cover.

Overall a good product if you have a way to haul it to the sight the night before or during the day and hide it near setup point.

By BuckNastySlayer from All over Tennessee

"I had numerous bucks come in to the decoy durning the rut. One bucked stopped chasing a doe and walked in to the decoy. It will stop or bring bucks into range if they can see it, that was for sure."

    thanksgiving hunt, November 29, 2008
    By deerdecoy

"I love the real look you get with this product. We bought 3 of them and took them to the deer lease in north Texas for our thanksgiving hunt. We put them together the night before and they were very large and bulkey. We ended up just taking the head off and putting it in the back of the rhino put together. Here is what happened.........
Me I had and eight point and a seven point came in and fought over it. I missed a 12 point that slipped in behind them and started trying to nose the decoy.
My two brother-in laws shoot big bucks also a 9 point that was 20 inches wide and the othe was an 8 point 18 1/2 wide both coming in right behind the decoy.
So in conc.... great detail very bulkey and the one thing that I hate is the paint chips very easy leaving you with black plastic. But it works..... One last thing the smaller deer are scared to death of it the two shot weight 220pds abd 200pds so they were about the size of the decoy. Hammer down on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend this decoy to any serious hunter, November 21, 2008
By drtractor from Saint Onge, SD

"I've been using my decoy now, for about 3 weeks, and I'm very happy with itl It looks very realistic, especially compared to the other decoys, that are available. It draws alot of attention from deer of all ages, and sexes. It is easy to set up and take down, and stands up without assistance, unless the wind is excessive. It has been a very useful and fun decoy to use, and I look forward to using it for many seasons to come."

It sure looks good, October 30, 2008
    By wallies from Northern Indiana

"I put a lot of time in to my decision of which decoy would be best. I looked at the moving head and tail decoys first. I didnt like the way it "clunked" each time the head moved to it's limits. Long story short. I couldn't get past how real this decoy looked. In the field it's even better! The first time I used it a nice 10 point came out of nowhere to visit it. It was awesome to sit and whatch that deer try to figure out the decoy. Teh buck did everything but charge it. When the rut is strong my bet is he will.
On the down side. It is noisy to transport and put together. I am lucky in that I can stash it in some bushes. If I had to carry it out each time it wouldnt be fun.
I am so glad I have a decoy. It's going to provide alot of good stories.

Solid and stable, October 9, 2008
    By lahainagallery from Ozark, AL

"I am very impressed with this Flambeau Buck deer decoy. I recently purchased the Scarface decoy, and the differences in quality and realism are huge. This decoy by Flambeau stands up without any additional support (unless its windy) and looks totally lifelike. Compared with the Scarface, which is wobbly and really kinda monotone in color. Now to be fair the Scarface head's moves in a stiff breeze (if it is really windy), but it is incapable of standing on its own so plan to spend some time (in the dark probably) trying to put stakes in the ground, sweating and making the place smell like human hunter while you try to get Scarface anchored down. The Flambeau Buck decoy on the other hand has very impressive size, super high quality, and just looks so real that if you are only planning to buy one decoy - this would be the best of the ones I have tried."
