"The screws are junk that they send, but get your own lags and it's awesome. The padelock hole is set up so that you wouldn't be able to get bold cutters in there."

"It's rare to find a product that fits it's intended use as well as this one does. I now have all five of my cuttys not only protected from damage by the wild pigs that I hunt, but also by incorperating a lock and cable thay can't be stollen without a plan and more tools than the average person carries in his pocket. Worth every cent when you consider the price of replacing your camera. Nice work, thanks."

"A leveling system would help. Unlocking the unit is awkward and usually ends up with your picture being taken. A larger hasp opening might be a solution to ease the unlocking."

"This BearSafe along with a Master Lock paddle lock and Master Lock Python Camo Treestand Lock give you the security you need to protect your Cuddeback. Run the Python cable through the paddle lock attached to the BearSafe. The Cuddeback Capture IR camera fits perfectly into this box. I would buy this BearSafe even if I knew there were no bear in the area. But as we found out there is bear in our area and they are very curious about the camera as the pictures and claw marks on the side of the tree on the side of the box reveal. Be sure to remove as much of your scent as possible on the BearSafe and surrounding area."

"Excellent article. Hard to believe, but the first time I set the trail camera up my son set his trail camera without a protective cover about a hundred yards away. When we returned two weeks later ,his camera had been damaged. Upon checking the card the culprit turned out to be a BEAR."

"I purchased the Bearsafe when I bought the camera. Provides great protection from theft and makes it easier to check the camera since the camera is not attached to the tree. I do recommend using a better grade of lag bolts because the ones sold with the box are not the best."

"I feel so much better about leaving my Cuddeback out in the woods inside the BearSafe. The camera fits inside perfectly and is very secure. I did buy larger lag bolts to secure to tree because the ones provided seemed a little small to me."

"Bought 2 of these to protect my new cuddebacks. Well
built. Only thing I didn't like was the screws they send with
it. Drilled out mounting holes and used larger lag bolt.
Otherwise I am very happy with them."

"The bear safe works Great . I camo painted mine to match my hunting area. I also used larger lag screws to attach it to the tree. So far I have gotten a lot of good pics.

"I have had the bear safe for about a month and everything is great so far. The camera fits tightly into the safe and the safe secures firmly to the tree. I did buy longer screws though just to be on the safe side, which is my reason for only 4 stars."

"I think it is great. Very easy to fasten to a tree or post. I addeded bigger lag screws. It would be very difficult to remove from the tree with the larger screws. I purchased the safe to keep away potential thieves because we do not have many bear in our area. The bear safe is simple and sturdy."

"I think the case is adequate, if a little expensive for a simple folded metal box. I'm in a dry climate, but think it might be good to put tape over the top seam to keep out rain. The color is way too light to blend in with most tree trunks- a very dark grey would have been better than light tan. Probably not a problem for deer, etc., but I plan on using it as security camera when not on a game trail. I will be using actual bark and gluing it on. The screws included are way too short to keep it securely attached to a thick-barked tree- I substituted structural screws that can be screwed in 4 inches- no bear or person is going to pry it off a tree with those in there! The camera fits very snugly in the case. I will be buying a second one so one can be permanently set for home security and one for moving around on game trails."

"I have four Cuddeback IR cameras, and one Capture. The Capture model is not only less expensive but has a faster trigger and takes just as great of a picture as the higher priced models. I've had other brand camers, but any Cuddeback is better than any other on the market.
The bearsafe should be called the thief safe. I use one on all my Cuddebacks. "Peace of mind" in areas where your neighboor might see it and be a little too nosey."

"I have built my own in the past but no more. These cages are of a superb design and allow you to also chain to trees for added theft protection. Yes there are those SPORTSPEOPLE who don't care who's property they take. Bears just are curious!!!!!!!!!"
