What sets the MX-3 three-blade apart from the rest of the broadheads in the Muzzy line? For starters, it sports a shorter profile, 1-1/4" cutting diameter and .025"-thick, stainless steel blades, making the cutting diameter 1/16" wider and the blades .005" thicker. This updated design allows the MX-3 to fly truer and faster and deliver more killing power at the point of impact. Like its predecessors, this new take on Muzzy's classic, proven construction includes a bone-splitting Trocar tip, a high-grade aircraft aluminum ferrule and interlocking blades that form a stout column of steel within the the ferrule. Per 3.

    love the MX3, November 4, 2009
    By markbob from Illinois

"Got my first deer with the MX3. Total penetration thru bone. The broadhead was in perfect condition, washed it off gave it a quick sharpen and put it back on the arrow. Groups consistent with my field points. Like other Muzzys great product."

    Good buy!, October 28, 2009
    By archery10 from Pennsylvania, PA

"I shot my first buck with the muzzy MX-3 and had a complete pass through even though i shot him quartering away and the blades had no problem passing thrown rib bones aswell as the from leg bone on the exit wound, as well as easy tracking it was as if someone threw buckets of blood throughout the woods."

    100% Satisfaction, September 17, 2009
    By elkNturkey from Irvine, KY

"I have just returned from CO. I shot my first elk. A 300lb. plus cow. I had a very steep quartering away shot and my arrow placement was not the best, but a kill all the same. The muzzy went in the ham and stoped in the lungs. The cow went 20yrds and bedded down. There was now blood trail, but the animal never got out of sight. Lots of internal damage. How I love the MUZZY momment. My cousin was using the regular 3-bade muzzy and shot his elk 20 minutes afer mine. She never knew she was shot. She pilled up 20yrds from my elk. The double muzzy momment is the best. I was using the MX-3."

    Muzzy MX3, August 4, 2009
    By Bashunter from Nebraska

"I thought they worked great. I killed My first deer Last Nov. with them. The only thing I didn't like was that they seem to fly low and to the left. Otherwise great product."

    Always good, July 23, 2009
    By recordbook from PA

"Whether you like muzzys or not, there's no denying their strength. The MX-3s have the flight characteristics of the old 3 blades with a greater cutting path. I have yet to harvest an animal with them yet, however if the 3 in. groups at 60 yards is any indication of how they will perform, I can't wait."

    Finally a blood trail, March 13, 2009
By QQBSAUCE from Port Orchard, Washington

"After a poor blood trail with the MX 4 I switched to the MX 3. Third day into my hunting trip and I took a large Cow Elk at 20 yds. It passed through and destroyed the broadhead
( i suspect it hit a tree after it went through). It left a good blood trail and found my cow 50 yds from the point where i hit her. I convinced my partner to switch from his shuttle T locks or what ever they are called because his would not fly true. two days later he took a cow straight on at 10 yds in the throat and it didnt go more than 20 feet before it dropped. The blood trail may not be as good as the rage but I wont use anything else especially since in washinton I have to use a fixed blade broadhead. I agree with some of the other reviews I dont have to same point of impact as my field tip, I average an inch difference between the two.

Still would not use anything other than a muzzy

    Muzzy MX-3 Broadheads, March 2, 2009
By Mantonman1 from rural Northern CA

"These tough, compact broadheads have the perfect design to accomplish what every bowhunter is looking for- hitting the same spot with your broadheads as you do with your field heads. Makes bow tuning a breeze when you don't have to readjust your sight for hunting after a summer of field head practice. Muzzy has had a long history of providing a great product and this one is no different.

The buck I shot last year left a blood trail a blind man could have followed.

    Great product!!

muzzy bad to the bone, December 23, 2008
    By Bamm24 from Holland, Ar

"I just purchased the MX3. The flight was good. Penetration awesome. The shot went through the deer and came out and shattered the opposite front leg. The only downfall , recovered deer but damaged all three blades. Would purchase again."

"I have not shot a deer with these broadheads yet but they have done a good job on smaller game like ground hogs and racoons so i think that they will work very well on deer. This broadheads fly very well and they always fly straight. very good for the money."

    Muzzy's Rule!, November 13, 2008
    By Kushy from Fowlerville, MI

"In today's world of mechanical broadheads and bows at warp speeds, people seem to feel that good old fixed bladed heads are obsolete. Well, I'm here to say that the Muzzy 100 grain (green) and the Muzzy MX-3 100 grains are about the best broadheads ever developed. I have laid down about 10 animals with Muzzy broadheads and have never had one make it more than 100 yards; typically, deer tend to fall over within sight. I can count on: complete penetration (even at 40+ yards), great blood trails, and a short track job. Anybody that complains about a lack of a blood trail should consider basic biology 101. When a deer is shot high in the chest cavity, it will take some time (distance from the shot) for blood to fill up in the chest cavity before spilling onto the ground. I've never had a deer make it more than 10-15 yards from impact without another sign of blood using these heads, and this includes all different types of hits. In 2007, I arrowed two bucks with the MX-3s. One buck was at 20 yards and I pinwheeled him thru both lungs; he didn't make it more than 10 feet before he dropped. The second buck of 2007 was taken at 23 yards at a slightly quartering towards angle. I placed the arrow about 1" behind the facing shoulder blade taking out the facing lung, diaphram, and liver. This buck went 60 yards, stopped, and flipped over. I took another quartering angle this year because it was the only shot I had and clipped the same organs as the 2nd buck of 2007. This buck went 90 yards because he ran across an open field before flipping over in a creek. The internal damage is always excellent. I practice frequently and I don't shoot at 10 or 20 yards, instead I start off, in hunting gear similiar to my hunting get up, at 40 yards. Next, I move up to 35, 30, and finally end up at 20. I shoot a Mathews Drenalin at 65 pounds- 29" draw, and cheap Beman 340s with Blazer Vanes. My set up shoots at 275 FPS. At 40 yards, I have to shoot at different targets with both the MX-3s and standard 100 grain Muzzys because I will reck my arrows if I don't. Again, mechanicals may have the new RAGE in bowhuntin', but when it comes down to it Muzzy broadheads are simply superior and have laid down many more deer than any mechanical."

    FYI, November 10, 2008
    By Jmbigbud from florida

"The muzzy mx3 has good craftsmanship, and make pass through no problem. I shot a doe with one, and broke 2 ribs with a clean pass through. However, goo thing she didn't go far because i could not find any blood. The muzzy does not fly like a field point It was consistently high at all ranges by about 3 inches. I am switching from 4 inch veins to blazer veins hopefully this will cure the problem. If not i am going to find a mechanical that i like been hearing lots of good things about them."
