My overall view,September 19, 2009
By Lavfrom Hawai'i
"The only thing I don't like about this bow is when it states that is 'factory tuned' and ready to shoot: nothing could be farther from the truth! The rest was so off from the sight that I couldn't even hit the target. I did not expect to go bullseye but to at least be somewhere on target... That said, the bow is solid, pretty quiet and shoots well, even without all the gizmos and high tech materials...So I would recommend it to any first time shooters or bowhunter on a budget: this bow is fun to shoot and it will bring the bacon to your table!"

Great Bow for Price,August 29, 2009
By NimrodGAfrom Georgia
"I bought this package 2 weeks ago as a replacement/upgrade from my 20+ yr. old Bear - Alaskan. I wasn't wanting to jump into Parrell Limbs or Crosbow, as I guess I'm Old School. Package came out of the box ready to shoot after installing a "D" Loop for my realease. Shoots 4" groups consistantly at 30 yds. w/little effort and no adjustment.
Suprisingly quiet, added Sims S-Coil stabilizer and it is way quiter than my old bow that was adequate for putting meat in the freezer for the last 26 yrs. Yes theres antlers on the wall too.
Old Bow after years of tuning, changing to glass limbs, carbon composite pullies etc.. shot 30" XX75 arrows at 65 lb. 239fps. at best. My buddies are blown away that w/same heavy aluminum arrows this package is shooting 294 fps @ 70#. Now they are trying to get me to go carbon, but for hunting speed isn't everything.
Quality for price is outstanding and w/draw adjustable from 26" - 31" w/out changing modules or cams is a big plus for the money."

"This is the first compound bow that I have owned and shot. I am well pleased with the performance of the bow. At 20 yards iwas grouping 4 arrows, plus it was one of the few bows that would adjust to my draw length, 31 and 1/2 inches with tthe loop."

advance hunter's bow,June 17, 2009
By mike58
"I have only been bow hunting for 3 years, so I am by no means a total expert. I started on a fireflight. Then moved to my Parker Buck Hunter after my first year. The Parker Buck Hunter is a good beginner's bow, but not more than that. The main reason for that is because there isn't a stop on the cams. This wasn't a big problem for me because I wasn't a complete beginner, and was able to be pretty consistent. However, I have missed several shots in the past two seasons due to there not being a stop. I wouldn't recommend this bow for a brand new hunter. But, I would recommend it to a more advanced hunter that is able to be consistent and already has the muscle memory for their anchor sites. I didn't have any problems with the sights, and replaced the two prong rest with a biscuit. Overall, I think that this bow deserves a 4 star."

I like it.,April 11, 2009
By imluvinitfrom Bakersfield, Ca
"Well when the bow first arrived, I checked to see if the sight had broken because of some reviews stating that they came broken, and it had not. Then I brought the draw weight down from 70 to 60 to get used to the bow first and when doing so the screws were so tight that when I finally bugded them a cloud of dust shot out. And then I got out shooting... and starting to group them nicely at 20 yards. Yet overall I am satisfided with this bow. Thank you again Cabelas!"

Very Good,March 3, 2009
By Scoutmaster320from Rochester, N.Y.
"The Parker Buck Hunter Bow Outfitter Package is just what I was looking for. Light weight, just the right size and easily adjustable. Can't wait for the next hunting season to open. Only flaw with the package is the quiver. Should have the option for a quiver for aluminum or carbon arrows. Some of us old timers still use the aluminum and will have to swap quivers due to the quiver that comes with the package is for tyhe thinner carbon arrows. Overall, Great package and price."

Bow is priced right, sights are bad,December 7, 2008
By Livesillyfrom Anchorage Alaska
"Well, this bow came just like I thought it would; with a broken plastic sight. This bow is priced right for what it is; a starter bow. The arrow rest is ok if you like the two pin type, I don't. I bought the bow for my 16 year old son to start off with. I had planned on changing out the sights and the rest when I got it so that was not such a big deal. The only things that are of concern are the bows loudness and the fact that the cams have no stop. Once drawn, the bow can be pulled even farther to the rear, making your anchor point harder to maintain for a new shooter. Other than that the bow is priced correct for a starter bow."

Parker Buck-Hunter Bow Outfitter Package,September 22, 2008
By Son3from Kansas
"When the bow first arrived, it was factory set to its heaviest draw weight, so I had to manually bring it down a bit. It took a lot of effort, but I eventually got the adjustment bolts to turn with my own allen wrench. After I got it broken-in, it had a very natural and comfortable draw. The factory-set equipment is very satisfactory; much better than my other PSE. The sights are simple to adjust; the built-in quiver is easily removable; the hand grip has a very natural and comfortable fit. Also, the full draw weight is not straining in the least...very easy. My only complaint is that mine is in need of better silencing gear, but that's cheap and easy to buy. Overall, this is the nicest bow I've ever owned. Excellent!"

Good beginner bow,September 13, 2008
By thebushpilotfrom California
"Over all I'm happy with this bow. When they say it's set up from the factory, WRONG. The sights where way off, the nock was to high, and the elevation and windage were way off. That being said, these are stupid simple adjustments on this bow. After adjusting stuff it works great, especially for the price. I haven't been into archery for 12 years and considering I have a 30" draw being able to get a mostly set up bow for this price is very nice. Oh, did I mention the easy adjustments. The only real complaint is the prong rest. Get a whisker bisquit or something and have some fun."

Great Bow for a Great Price,August 12, 2008
By gjbienfrom Louisiana
"I just bought this bow over the weekend and I am impressed with the whole setup. All adjustments are easy to make without going to a pro shop. I just got back into archery after 20 years and was looking for a good deal on a nice bow and I found it in the Parker. This bow is quiet and has virtually no vibration. The only sound I hear is the arrow hitting the target. Boy does it hit hard. I will probably change the rest since it is hard to keep the arrow on the prong rest unless you are shooting from the ground and not under any pressure. I wish this package had the Whisker Biscuit rest, a stabilizer, and a sling, but those are simple add-on items that are easy to find. Can't wait til hunting season! I just need to work on my form a bit and the deer can look out."

good beginner bow,July 22, 2008
By bmitchelfrom Greeneville, TN
"If you are looking for a basic entry level bow this is it. This bow shoots well but is a little noisy. The sights are junk, so go ahead and buy a good set. I chose to change the rest to a octane rest. The prong rest tends to let the arrow fall off a bunch and can be a pain. I am pleased with this bow, it is very small and lightweight and has a comfortable grip. Overall a good bow"

Good for a beginner.,July 1, 2008
By SouthernVThunterfrom Southern Vermont
"This was my first bow. I have used it for one year, and will use it again this year before upgrading to a more advanced bow. For the price it can't be beat. It is a very solid bow and is very adjustable (6 inches of draw length). I got the model in the 40-50 lbs draw, but have it around 55-60 easily. It shoots pretty fast and it is very accurate with some practice. Now for the problems. The only things that were really a problem were 1, the peep sight broke after only a few uses, and 2, The front sight is made of cheesy plastic that broke within a month. There were also some minor cosmetic issues: the paint chips and peels along the edges of the body if you set it on something that isn't soft like a blanket or towel. The other was that the black cams turn a weird orangish-bronze color, which doesn't seem to affect anything, but is kind of weird. Overall this is a great bow for a beginner bow hunter. I would recommend it to all beginners who don't want to break the bank when just starting out. Note: I do take pretty good care of my bow, I don't keep it in a case, but I keep it on a hook in my room. Some of the paint chipping and whatnot is from setting it down too hard, but I don't think that I have been particularly hard on it."
