Not 100% water-proof,October 4, 2009

"I bought two of the 'outside' dog beds several years ago. At first, the beds scared the dogs because the beds were so 'air-filled' that they'd get bounced or rolled off. After time, though, the dogs took to them, and eventually, the air leaked out and could comform to the dogs bodies. The purchased beds were used outside, on a covered deck, in and out of the Dogloos. One of our dogs has an incontinence problem. The urine and the moisture from snow and rain seeps through the 'waterproof' liner - slowly, but inevitably. Hosing the bed doesn't do much good. This year, we did wash the beds, separated, in the washer and dried in the dryer. This helped. However, the 'fill' is still compressed and not as supportive as it was in the beginning. The covers are durable. Our dogs have yet to damage the liners or zippers - unlike the numerous sleeping bags, comforters and such they have ripped, chewed, .... These beds are refillable. It would be nice if I could find the 'refill' product here at Cabela's."

"This is a great product! My only real critique is that I didn't double check the size before I bought it. I didn't think the bed would be that big but it was huge (the dog thinks it's great), it now covers a large chunk of my living room. It came in a vacuum-sealed package, so imagine my surprise when I opened it up and it just kept growing and growing! Great Product, suitable for any spoiled rotten dog!"

"i bought the max-4 camo water resistant bed for my lab thinking he would love it. turns out the cover is non breathable so when he lays on the bed it holds air like a pillow. either hes swallowed by the bed or rolls off."

"I have bought 4 of these beds for my two dogs. Two for inside to sleep on at night and two for there pen outside when we are at work. Both my dogs love the beds. They are east to keep clean and they stay dry with the water proof covers on them. I have a large size lab and a med. size Brittney so I have 4 large beds."

"Love it ... easy to put on and take off. Bad part is that I use this inside the house and unless I keep a blanket or something on top of it since the cover is slippery and the bed is puffy, so my dog slides off. But I love it!!!"

"I have had German Shorthairs since 1968 and I have four of them now. Cabela's premium deluxe dog bed is the only dog bed that I have found that can hold up to the wear and tear from these very active dogs. There are no seams that they can tear out. There is a hidden zipper that will not come unzipped like other beds. I buy the water restint beds which are really waterproof. If my dogs have an accident during the night the urine just pools up and is easy to wash off the next morning. I have had dogs who like to dig at their bed and rip their bed to shreads. Not with this bed. The tightly woven nylon cover suffers no damage from their sharp claws."

"I was excited about ordering our first dog bed for our year old yellow lab. Within the frist 2 days, she had bitten thrpough both the cover and pillow insert cover and began to remove the filling. She has plenty of chew toys and has not chewed any furniture in our home. I really expected the bed to be sturdier fabric. I am disappointed."

"This bed is by far the best that I have ever bought for my dogs. I just bought a new one for my lab puppy and he loves it. I bought two for my other lab and large mixed breed 5 years ago and they are holding up wonderful. I recently bought new filler for them, however, that is the only maintenance that we have done other than the periodic washing. These beds are worth the extra money. Ours have our dog's names monogramed - a real nice touch for only $5."
