"Directions were a bit hard to follow at first, but I got it installed in about 30 mins anyway. the only thing I don't like about it is that the cable sometimes will get stuck in the tailgate or somehow stuck behind the compressor making it possible to damage the unit. keep the pad in the right spot and it works very well."

"Great product. I should have bought one years ago. it only took me ten minutes to install. It makes opening the tailgate easier and there is no chance of it slipping out of your hand and slamming off the bumper. I highly recommend this product."

"Took about 1/2 hour to install. Easy to follow instructions and performs as described. Amazing little product, Wish I had purchased it sooner. Nice to click open the tailgate with your finger and let it go. I would recomend this to anyone."

"Bought two, one for me and the other for my brother. Very simple to install and WOW!!! how easy does it. Pull the handle on my tailgate now and walk away. No noise at all. Like I said, Slow and Easy. I think this would be great for the women who have wrestled with that tail gate in the past. It does not hinder the upward motion when closing the tailgate. I think it could also save the tailgate cables from premature breakage due to dropped tailgates."

"Bought the EZ Down for a 2008 Ram 1500. Will not work on my truck as it is, maybe if you drill hole bigger on the tailgate where pin connects. No problem though, return to Cabella's is easy, that's why I buy at Cabella's."

"I have a Ford 350 4 door long bed truck. I choose this item based on the year/ make and model listed on the website. When I received the product and read the instructions it specifically stated it would not fit on this pickup. I was frustrated to say the least but decided to open the package and size it up. It looked as though it should fit so I committed myself to the installation hoping I would not get into something that could not be fixed later or returned if needed. The part fit despite the instructions. If the instructions had mentioned that a metric wrench was required it would have been useful info. I struggled to find a wrench that would work. The ez-down tail gate mechanism works fine. Glad I installed it on such a heavy tailgate."

"The install of this product is very straight forward and the materials appear to be of high quality so far. I have had issues with the tailgate cable popping out when I close it and it sticks out of the gap between the tail light and tailgate... a slight annoyance.
It does what it sets out to do and that is to make opening the tailgate a breeze."
