"Special ordered this for a 4x4 S-10 PU. Installation was pretty simple, at least for the brackets and transfer of the visors. The screws suppled to attach the tray & brackets were too small for the holes. Went to bigger ones, and they worked for a while. Til the passenger tried to adjust the visor and both pulled out on that side. Tried a bigger screw with basically the same results. Finally installed with bolts and lock nuts and now is a solid installation The visors move around, because I didn't move the snap-in clips, so will have to locate something to fit. The actual shelf has a thin lip than holds 2 CD cases; try 3 and the top one slides out. A taller front lip would have been nice. Nice idea, but defintely under-engineered."

"I had one of these in my 1995 Ford, but the original manufacturer sold the rights to another manufacturer. The new companies quality is no where near the quality of the original. The original was outstanding. I not only had my pistols stored on it, I also mounted my police radio and light controls on it. I definitely would not put this in my new truck."

Can't use sun visors,September 15, 2007

"I installed this product in my 2004 Ford F250 Super Duty. The color matched my interior perfectly, and does hold a rifle if it's not too bulky (as in scoped AR15). Installation is straightforward. You will need to remove the clips that secure the ends of your sun visors, and you cannot use them with the shelf; this means they bob around a lot on rough roads. What's worse, it puts the visors so low that they block your vision. You can't use them to the side at all (I look over it!), and even when folded up I have to hunch a little to see under them when looking up at stoplights, etc. The visor blocks the rearview mirror as well. I haven't given up; I'm going to try shims or something to see if I can get them useable again. If I can make it work, I do like the gun location. If I had known the hassle, though, I'd have gotten the Big Sky overhead rack instead."

"As the description states, it will hold a rifle, out of the way but not out of sight. Anyone with a little bit of common sense knows that you will have to do away with your gas/temp monitor, cubby hole, etc in order to obtain full potential of this product."

"This listed as a rifle shelf for Dodge pickup it is only a storage shelf because the temp -gas mileage read out is only a couple in above shelf when installed needs to be listed as a storage shelf only on Dodge pickups.. The only warning you get is NOT FOR OVERHEAD CONSOLE ???? what ever that is"
