"The product was sturdy and, after an extra step to cut the bolts to the proper length, installed fairly easily on my 2009 Dodge Ram Megacab. They do collect mud on offroad excursions and need to be cleaned off quickly, but so far have held up well. Provides a handy step for getting to my tool box with the other foot going on the rear tire."

"Simply put... installed them in October, come springtime the steps corroded from road salt & now cannot be moved. This along with the fact that where you install them on a truck, if you do any off-road activities... the pins and moving parts of this product fill with mud & again make them impossible to operate. These steps were a complete waste of time and money. ZERO STARS"

Fits 2007 Sierra 2500 HD Crew Cab,

"Step installed in minutes as if it were made for my truck. Like other reviewers said it could be a little larger but it is very usable nonetheless. I will buy another for the other side. I would have bought two but I didn't want to have to send two back if it did not fit. I ordered only one because another reviewer with a 07 Silverado 2500 HD crew cab (basically identical truck as mine) said it did not fit. I assumed he did not know what he was talking about because he kept mentioning his "frame" and not having the "frame member". It does not mount on the frame. It mounts on the U channel under the box. There is even a pre-existing hole for the bolt--so no drilling. Needless to say, my assumption was correct. I'll order another for the pass. side on my next Cabelas order. So for those of you who have a GM Classic 2500 HD Crew Cab disregard a previous review saying they won't fit as they fit great! Cablelas has always been great but my step must have been a return as the hardware blister pack was torn open. Fortunately all the necessary hardware was there. On a side note I wish more people would indicate the year, make, model of their vehicle in the title or text body because without that info. the reviews are utterly useless!"

"This product looks very well made and probably is a very god quality product that should function fine. BUT, it does not fit the new body 2008 GM 2500 series trucks. Cabella's description does not mention what it will fit. Instructions do not list the 2008 GM line."

"This fit perfect on my 94 Dodge 2500 with no alterations to make it fit. It's well built and is heavy duty quality. If you have a big truck and have trouble reaching into the front of the bed then this is a must have. I only wish I had bought them earlier. I priced them everywhere and Cabelas's is the cheapest price for this product."

"very usefull, could use better location but limited to design of truck, very strong if you are worried about breaking. step could be a little longer, i wear size 11 it works but would be better if it had another 2-3 inches more in length. but i do like enough that i will buy another eventually for the passenger side. i use it for getting in my tool box on an f250. i can reach almost all the way to the other side and to the bottom. i have an extra deep box."

"I liked everything about the step except for the location of where it mounted at the front of the box. I have a dually and needed the step to reach the pin on my fifth wheel hitch. I fabricated two cross-bars and re-located the step right in front of the dually fender."

"the truck step has to mount on a crossmember of the bed, on dually pickup it has to mount to the front crossmember which doesn't allow enough access to the center portion of the bed. If it could mount to the second crossmember it would be better but the dual fender sticks out too far to allow your foot on the step."

"2008 GMC 3500 HD Product was not even spec'd to fit my truck. I bought it thinking I could modify it to fit. NO!! It fit great right out of the box in 20 minutes!! Great product. I see a lot of people saying this wont fit there truck. This product mounts to the bed cross member that's welded to the underneath side of the bed and not a frame mounted body or bed mount. I found this to take a little bit of extra looking to figure out because it looks like it should bolt to a frame mounted cross member but no. The place where it mounts is a U shaped reenforcement cross brace welded to the underside of the bed."
