Propane fire ring is a winter winner,January 16, 2008
By Powderhornfrom wooded outskirts of Concord, New Hampshire
"The product was easy to assemble by following the included directions, and everything worked as described. It has been a great morale booster through creating a relaxing, comforting and warming ambience while taking breaks during four hour sessions of snow blowing after each storm we've had so far this season. Up here in NH we've already had 64 inches of snow and are only half way through the winter! It is easy to partially disassemble for moving it place to place, and it is nice to be able to turn it off to save fuel between breaks. To keep your hands clean when handling the ceramic logs when coated with soot, a single disposable latex glove does the trick. This rig certainly throws out plenty of heat. I am very happy I bought it, and look forward to using it in the other three seasons for a variety of different applications. I recommend this highly to anyone who loves to spend time outdoors but is not always located where it is safe or permitted to build a wood fire in a fire pit.

Love this item,June 16, 2009
By RobertJFfrom Millbury, Ma
"I bought this late in the season last year and only started to use it this season. First off, I love a wood fire. However due to dangerous pests that travel in wood, it is illegal to transport firewood out of an area. At a campground finding deadfall is hit or miss. Wet or scarce. Buying firewood is expensive and can be non-seasoned. Then there is the fact that I will not leave hot embers when I retire and that either means waiting it out or using a lot of water. No thanks. I have used this item twice so far and love it. Take the burner out and set it where you want, assemble the logs and lava stone (use latex gloves) connect the tank and light it. A great campfire with no smoke blowing in faces, no sparks to start a forest fire and looks great with great heat. Just turn it off when you are done. Like a few people, I want a longer hose to come with it. It is only 4' and should be at least 8 or 12'. The legs are a pain in that they do not stay open when you move it. They should have a simple clip to hold them in place. Mine came with two full bags of lava rocks which do not show in the pic and they add greatly to the performance. All in all, this is a great item to have and easy to use. Goodbye burning wood."

Camp Chef Portable Propane Fire Ring,March 19, 2009
By TrinityKidfrom Santa Maria, CA
"Just what I have been looking for a resonable sized portable fire ring to include with our RV equipment. I'm pleased with the purchase with one exception, a longer propane supply hose would be beneficial other than the 6' hose provided. I added another 6' hose to the existing to keep the propane tank clear of the fire and eliminate a tripping hazard around the fire ring."

Camp Chef fire ring,January 22, 2009
By grldstfrom Atlanta, GA
"First seen this camp fire ring at a campground, being used by the camper beside me.
I liked the reality look and the amount of heat it produced. When they told me the price, I was sold. I've seen these things priced at over $200.00 at RV shows.
One of the better " value" products I've ever purchased."

Portable Propane-Powered Fire Ring,November 19, 2008
By farkerfrom northern California
"the product works very well. The size and fullness of the fire was better than I had thought it would be. Used for a party in a fire pit during the dry season in California and most people thought it was a reg fire despite the propane tank off to the side."

Campfire ring,October 6, 2008

"My wife and I are early risers when we go camping and really welcome the quick warmth the fire ring provides. It takes so long to start an regular campfire and derive any heat. No ashes to woryy about and the product gives off virtually no burning embers that could be potentially catastrophic."

Camp fire ring,August 25, 2008
By DuaneALfrom Vancouver, WA
"Great product. Used it this weekend where "campfires" were not allowedd. Generates quite a lot of heat and has a nice flame. Great with the carry bag to carry it to and from camp. Well worth the money spent. Would not rely on it in real cold outdoors, say 40's."

Fun Item,February 28, 2008
By SBFTXfrom DFW Metro, TX
"I use this almost daily around the yard and on the porches. It does get a lot of soot on the logs, but to me the main problem is the legs don’t snap into place or lock. They just dangle and are only held in place by the weight of the rock & logs. I wired mine in place to solve the problem and now have no difficulty moving it from the front to the back yard. I wish they offered a larger model. This one is great for the porches, but a larger one would be better for camping. It is so easy to use and has no smoke. Highly recommend one to anyone who likes to be hypnotized by the campfire!"

Quick & Easy campfire,September 15, 2007
By Steve77RSfrom Pocatello, Idaho
"I purchased this fire ring for my wife's birthday, last July, and just got around to using it at our condominium this week. It worked as expected and presented a fairly realistic campfire. Exception being no kindling to fetch, skill to start or ashes to douse-out. Quick and easy; roasted marshmellows just like the real-deal :) The ceramic logs do get sooty just like wood would do, so handling them when putting it away takes minor washing before touching the spouse! We're pleased with this purchase and are sure to use it on the backyard porch since heating surfaces under the unit is very minor. Good price, compared to competitors, and nice product. Thanks."
