The Good, the Bad and the Tear,November 11, 2009

"The Good: fits the Pelican pond boat perfectly when you keep the seats in place and is reasonably priced. The Bad: is only water resistant, not water proof and a solid rain will require you to go empty your boat. The Tear: within less than 6 months, I got a tear in the fabric just due to it degrading in the sun not as a result of anything striking or cutting against it. However, I've yet to find anything else on the market that is any better in this price range."

"I am pleased to have this cover. I have one of the Sun Dolphin pro 120, which is at the upper end of the size fit. I also have a foot control trolling motor which adds an additional hump that wasn't designed into the product. The cover fits very tight for my 12 foot boat, and I have to use tarp tie downs and bungie cords to keep the cover in place. It would be nice if it had grommets every two feet along the edge. All together, this is a good product and I would recommend it to anyone who has a 12 foot or smaller boat."

"I don,t mind the fact that its light nylon material,its just not made for the BassTender10.2, its way to big and very loose across the top even with the seats up, there is still an extra foot or too.I tried using 3 6ft pieces of plastic baseboard arched like a covered wagon to Baloon it up and snug it,1 day later the cover was in the bushes.It Needs a solid Rope in it, not Elastic cord,might fit the Pelican Bassraider,as it sits higher.I'm sellin my cover,too bad,worth a shot.."

"Nice to have the availability to a small boat cover, it fits both my Peilcan Pediator and Bass Raider boats.
It sheds water and weather well, but could use a pull rope in the perimeter to pull it tight. Required using some bungee cords from seats to sides, front and back to add to the shedding of rain water.
We'll see what the longevity of the product is with time, I do now own 2 of them."

"The cover fits well, and keeps most of the rain out of my pond boat, so I don't need to pull the plugs and stand it on end every time after it rains. But I would like it a lot more if it wasn't shiny silver in color. Camo would be nice. This thing really stands out on the lakeshore and might be inviting theft, even though the boat is locked down."

"Cover is a little long on a 10ft bass tender. Cover will fill with rain water an colapse into boat. Does keep sun from fading plastic and leaves out.. It works ok but not great. If it fit tighter it would work alot better, but its better then nothing covering my boat."

"The cover fits well and has a good elastic bottom, however it tends to puddle water along the edges, it would be a good idea to put some eyelets around the bottom to cinch the cover alittle tighter so the water won't puddle. it is pretty much water proof Bill"

"The pond boat cover has proven to been effective on my 11' pond boat in the three weeks and many rainy days since I received it. The cover is innexpensive so my expectations were not high but I had expected it to be more waterproof. The cover will shed water well but don't expect it to keep water out of your boat if there is any chance that even small puddles will collect on the surface of the cover."

"I didn't buy the boat at Cabelas, BUT it was a perfect fit. The cover stayed on through a Nor'Easter storm with almost 10" of rain in 36 hours with wind gusts up to 60 mph. It sure beats using the tarp I had in the past. Well worth the money."
