"These shoes are awesome! Comfortable for those of us who like wide sizes, but not so roomy that they might chafe. Only problem was the collar-- it was so stiff at first it hurt a little. I solved this by not lacing it up all the way for the first couple of weeks to allow more room for movement, and the collar eventually softened up. It's for this reason only that they don't get 5 stars. Other than that, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Even after 6 months of wear, they still provide excellent support. I feel like I'm walking on cushions. Great for walking across campus or out in the woods, and as a plus they're not as heavy as they look, so you don't get worn out from lugging them around."
"Overall the boot did well. I bought them sometime ago and wanted to give them a good workout before writing this. On real smooth rocks they had a slight slip to them. For ankle support they were great. I had a slight fall and planted my foot solidly and stopping before going into the river. They are very comfortable with just enough room to let your feet breath but not having them feel sloppy. The weird part is that they kept coming untied even with double knots."

"I was really excited to finally get a pair of Danner boots since my husband has been a fan of his Danners for years. After two weeks of breaking in, I took them on a week long backpacking vacation. Was I glad I brought along some backups. The boot is wide and even in the correct size allowed for too much sloshing. The upper portion of the boot was stiff and unyielding and never did break past to a comfortable feel. This boot had a very definite unisex feel - one size fits all - not at all what I was expecting. It felt like I was wearing a man's boot. I can wear these boots on smaller hikes but on the longer treks there's no comparision to my Cabela's Snow Runners or Keen Voyageurs."

"I would recommend the Danner GTX Hikers to women who want to tackle an extreme terrain. They are lightweight and rugged, but are extremely comfortable. The cushion inner sole provided me with a shock absorber while walking in harsh conditions. I did not feel a thing. It felt like I was wearing a pair of sneakers instead of boots."

"These boots are the best I have found in a long time. I'm on my feet 8 hours a night and sence I've had Danner 453 GTX Hikers my feet don't bother me by the time I get home. I have told alot of my friends about them and I've bought my dad a pair of mens danners. They are truely great boots."
