"I purchased these poles to modify the awning on our popup camper. We needed longer poles to convert our awning so it attached to the camper vs being supported by the ground. These poles are much heavier duty than the original ones, and still fit into the zip up bag on the camper. They are easy to adjust the length, and fold up quickly. The pegs on the top of the poles were an added bonus. They made fastening the poles to the aluminum rail very simple.
Now, I realize that not everyone is going to be using these poles for this specific use, but if you do, they work great."

"These are the best poles out there, i have tried quite a few, they are worth buying and stand up very well to use. They are sturdy, well designed, and don't slip (the pole does not slide down inside the main shaft) Once they are locked in place they stay! They don't hurt the hands to adjust, love the break down size, and convenience."

"We purchased these to support a large tarp over our tent. The top part of the pole was smaller than the holes on the tarp - it then ripped our tarp. We ended up not connecting the 2 parts of the pole so it gave a little more support. I believe these would be better for a lighter weight tarp. Now I have several of these and don't know when I would use them again."

"I purchased these poles to use for an awning off my cargo trailer camper conversion. They worked great. There are others out there that cost less but the way these are built is far better for only a little more money. I used 4 poles for an 8X10 tarp and that was enough."

"Purchased these for an awning we made ourselves. They work just great. The part of the pole that slides into the bottom piece is a little fussy about going in but with use it improves. Only thing I would change is the length of the pin at the top of the pole. For our purposes, it is a bit too short but still do-able. Price is great and product is hard to find if it were not for Cabela's!"

"I had read the reviews on these poles and most of them were good. I ordered 4 for my awningeven though it can work with 3 and even just two if necessary. The poles come in three parts. The base which is the fattest in diameter and then the top two parts which are teathered together much like tent poles. You insert the top two poles into the base.
With 2 of the poles, it was easy to insert the top two poles into the base. For of them it was difficult to insert into the base. With the 4th one, it was nearly impossible to insert into the base. The latch was open and not closed. It was like the top two thirds was catching on something on the base lip.
They are sturdy and they do work well and tighten up well also. I just wish they could all work. I had bought the 4th one as an extra should one of the others not work. It's too much of a pain to return it, so I will just keep it."
