"Although Easton includes epoxy w inserts (Cabela's Stalker Extreme Carbon Arrows), I prefer to use a "hot melt" type of glue, in the event I want to remove the insert in case it gets damaged or I want to shorten the arrow.
Hot melt glue comes in a hard stick form, and is applied by heating the insert w a torch (or over a gas burner), then running it over the stick to melt the glue. During this process, one needs to be careful in NOT applying too much pressure on the aluminum insert with the needle nose pliers, otherwise it will bend or crush them as it happened to me.
To remove the insert, attach a "field tip" to the insert and heat the tip for a few seconds. Withing 5 - 10 seconds simply pull on the tip with the needle nose pliers and the insert will slide out."
