Great in wind and weed infested areas,June 6, 2008
By Allenloves2huntfrom Nashville, NC
"I agree with another writer that gave this a much lower rating in that this is not a small mouth lure. This is a great lure for large mouth bass in weed infested waters and due to the mass of this bait you can fish it in very windy weather where weight less worms and traditional fluke baits won't work. This bait is still a better option because of your being able to fish it weedless. Just don't skimp and buy some 5/0 wide gap hooks or larger to fish these things with if you don't have them already. The large hook adds weight to the rig and also acts as a needed keel to keep it balanced and running straight. I have caught near a dozen fish on this bait so I can't agree with the claim I have read of it being flimsy. It is not a Mann's hard nosed bait, but it is much more durable than the traditional senko that I thought this would be similiar to in durability."

Not what I expect from Yamamoto,June 2, 2008
By AlUpTheCreekfrom Richmond, VA
"Compared to its other successful products, this one's a dud for me. Like a lot of soft swim baits, the swim senko has to be rigged exactly straight to avoid spinning & line twist. Requiring such a large hook (5/0) to provide a keel also takes it out of the size range I normally use for smallmouth in wadeable rivers. This bait is probably best suited for LM bass in still water; much more specialized than the regular senko. It might work well for others, and the dense Yamamoto plastic is still great stuff, but it doesn't work for me."

Excelent but Flimsy,January 16, 2008
By DirrtyDanfrom South Africa
"This is an excellent bait...and these are great for a reactionary strike but can also be fished slowly and will produce...but.. The segmented section in the middle of the lure makes it flimsy and your "tail" will be ripped off more than half the time either from bass short striking or the force of a good take...you will get strikes though...so if you are up to "a worm a fish" stats go for it"

The most productive bass lure.,August 24, 2007
By Medic306from Maine
"I highly recommend this lure to anyone who enjoys catching tons of bass in a day of fishing. This is by far the best worm/swimbait available. Just throw it to the bottom, give it a little jerk every minute or so, before you know it a bass will have the thing swallowed. It is wellworth money. Favorite colors: Black, Pumpkin with purple flakes, and Watermelon with black & red flakes."

Swim Senko,June 17, 2007
By Topwaterspookfrom dyed in the wool, western Pa. bass fisherman
"I used the recomended 5/0 ewg hook to help act as a keel. The swim senko proved to be almost impossible to rig straight enough to fish without exorbident line twist. I've been rigging and using plastic baits since before there was a Yamamoto company. Personally, I'm very dissapointed with them. Worst part is I'm stuck with the ones I bought. They're not as reliable as the Senko."

swimmimg senco,February 17, 2007
By scobbottfrom South central Oklahoma
"I have fished with it twice after a cold spell. The sun came out and it warmed a bit so I got on the lake. I fished only far about 45 minutes before it got cold. I caught three nice bass. A 3, a five and a six. Next day it got up to 63 degrees, so I had to fish. Got out late and only fished about two hours. I caught almost the same fish plus a seven pounder. I texas rigged it with a small wait on its nose and fished pretty steadily, but slow back to the boat. It seemed to almost catch the fish fot me. They were sunnuing themselvs around the rocks - at least thats where I caught them. I rigged it with a #5, small wire, red, big gap hook .My bait had red and green flakes in it. Then we got another cold spell."
