These shoes are constructed of rugged, oiled tumbled leather, a waterproof and a breathable GORE-TEX® membrane, a lightweight and tough Vibram® Gumlite® outsole, anatomic polyurethane footbeds and a moisture-wicking lining. These shoes are also made with a Goodyear® welt construction process, which only the finest shoes and boots are made with for rock solid durability. "Foot support is disappointing - seems not to have any; this is a problem if you are on your feet all day. If you insert an orthotic device, it isn't too bad and makes the boot much more comfortable."

"Which in Minnesota parlance means pretty good boot. A bit slow to break in but overall quite comfortable....early tests with water confirm waterproof. Spent one long day in them, mostly on my feet working outside and never had any discomfort."

"I received the boots aand used them for 8 hours the same day.No problems with sore feet or blisters because of the soft leather.The only problem seems to be that the WW width runs narrow.I hope they stretch out with use."

"Comfortable boot but tread was not good at all. Wore them outside on the snow and kept sliding around. Would be good for someone not wearing them in the winter. Sizing was perfect and the wide width actually fit unlike some other brands. Ended up returning them because of the tread."

"Looks awesome and is for the most part very comfortable. There was however, a small piece of leather on the back inside of both boots that dug into the upper part of my heels. Maybe it was just me and it really wasn't a big deal. They are great now and would recommend them."

"Got this chukka to have a little stiffer support than the Cabela's Field Chukka and to get Goodyear welt construction and Vibram Gumlite soles. It admirably lives up to all my expectations.
The original color new was medium brown with a slight orange hue. The leather seemed a little dry new, so I treated it with leather lube and it darkened, lost the dry feel and no longer has the orange hue. I think the look and feel much better after the treatment. Cabela's is very helpful and the product manager suggested using Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP on them to maintain and treat the leather with advice that Obenauf's will darken them some. In the future I will treat and maintain them with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP as suggested. The pebble finish is deep and easy to maintain with the above products. Small scuffs and marks rub right out. This is very nice since, even though they are utilitarian, I still like them to look nice.
The tongue is nicely padded and the tongue gusset is of a softer material to make it very comfortable. I can get them moderately snug without having laces cut into the top of my foot.
The size (a 13D) was true to size, a perfect fit for my near perfectly sized 13D feet. It wears quite comfortably with light to medium hiking socks such as Cabela's Outfitter Series or Cabela's ingenius.
They look good for casual wear with canvas hiking and safari clothes and in real outdoor use, they provide ankle support without being rigid. The Vibram Gumlite sole gives excellent cushioning without giving up the stability of a lugged sole. It also seems to be wearing very well and I expect to get good life from the sole.
I'm used to having quick lacing lugs at the top of the lacing instead of normal eyelets as with this chukka. However, I've pleasantly found that the normal eyelets don't hinder getting the chukka on or off or getting proper lacing tension.
This chukka performs well for me for walking and light hiking on hard, rocky and uneven surfaces. I wore them recently on a fairly lengthy mine tour of a zinc mine that has become a mining museum. The mine has solid rock tunnels and shafts. At the end of the tour, some with less supportive footwear were definitely feeling it, but I was still quite comfortable. This chukka gave me exactly what I wanted which was ankle support support and rigidity between what I get with a field type "oxford" and a full hiking boot.

"I have found the Moc Toe Chukka to be a very comfortable shoe to wear. I like the fact that they are GoreTex lined and the exterior leather is rugged & low maintenance. I've been a loyal wearer of the Cabela's Tempest Chukka, but they were out of my size so I ordered these instead. I've been plesantly suprised at their fit, comfort, and durability. I've worn them all day on cold, hot & wet days & found them to keep my feet comfortable & dry. The soles have good traction & have taken a 200 lb pounding pretty well. They're a great Chukka at a good price."
