ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE,July 4, 2008

"I put this light on my boat almost one year ago and am happy with it's performance. I fish mostly at night on a fairly busy river and wanted a highly visible stern light, this light is the brightest one I've seen and the telescoping mast is handy. I do have to agree with other posts about the base, there is much room for improvement. I have found that by spraying the base and mast end with a corrosion preventative (Boeshield T-9) after each use eliminates the corrosion issues and the light is reliable. In my opinion the positive features- a very bright low amp draw, justify the maintenance. Also I have had no issues with the rubber base cover and incidentally the Saint Johns River where I fish is brackish to salty water."

"WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING IT. NOT WORTH THE PRICE ONLY THE TELESCOPIC POLE IS S.S. THE CONNECTOR AND BASE ARE CHEAP PLASTIC. THE BASE IS NOT AT ALL AS PICTURED. IT IS ROUND NOT OBLONG. THE RUBBER CAP & GASKET FELL APART UPON INSTALLATION. WHEN I CALLED FOR A REPLACEMENT CAP I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO SEND THE COMPLETE UNIT BACK, INCURRING MORE COST. REPLACEMENT TOOK FOREVER TO ARRIVE. THANK GOD I WAS NOT IN A HURRY TO USE THE BOAT FOR THE SUMMER. VERY DISSAPOINTED"

Dont buy this piece of junk,June 21, 2007

"I am on my second one and its on its way back to be returned. This light is USELESS!!! Not Waterproof. every time It rains its full of water, and shorts out. once the water hits the mini circuit board it corrodes. they dont last more than a month and that is freshwater use I dont understand why they would make a light for a boat that is not waterproof!! bad product design. bill"
