Boundary Waters Sleeping Bag,September 30, 2009
By Diamondbackfrom Wisconsin.
"I have owned this sleeping bag for about two years and it has seen me through many long hiking and canoeing trips. This is the best sleeping bag I have owned. It's light weight, ability to pack very small, and warmth are amazing. If my feet weren't claustrophobic I would have gotten the mummy bag but this one is perfect for me. It came with a waterproof stuff sack as well as a bag for hanging it when not packed for travel to keep the down lofty. I can't think of anything I would change in this bag and the way it was packaged and sold. Get a good pad to sleep on and you are ready for anything. I have also done some winter camping with this bag and it has kept me warm in pretty cold conditions. Three words sum it all up, Great Sleeping Bag."

A lightweight comfortable bag,October 19, 2009
By TrailRider1from Boulder, CO
"I am 6-4 and needed a long bag. And I wanted it both rectangular for comfort and light for backpacking. This bag is amazing. With its 20-degree rating, I was warm enough in 30 degree weather, and it had plenty of room. And with a carry weight less than 3 pounds, it is a winner!"

Boundary Waters Sleeping Bag,October 8, 2009
By bwcacanoetripperfrom Northern Minnesota
"pros - kept us warm, roomy, light weight, has a storage bag. cons - loses feathers, doesn't have a stuff sack - included water proof compression sack weighs to much.
The sleeping bag worked well on our "Boundary Water" canoe trip it kept us warm but after a few times stuffed into the pack it started to lose feathers (we moved 8 times). The waterproof compression sack is nice (I used it on another trip for other stuff) but when you are looking for light weight packability - it seems to weigh as much as the sleeping bag and doesn't compact well, therefore it got left home and we used different stuff sacks. I love the bag but worry it won't stand up to a lot of use, due to the feather issue."

"I've used this bag three times now above 9000 feet in Colorado with temps in the upper teens. I am 6' 4" and this bag has plenty of room to move around in, it is very warm, and it compresses very nicely. Great Job Cabela's."

Great Value - Good Bag,August 28, 2009
By HitTheTrailsfrom Appleton, WI
I'm 6'2'' with wide shoulders so standard bags don't fit. When most bags advertise "long" they are not made any wider. This bag had the right amount of room for me. I've used it 3 times since purchase in spring of '09. First was on top of snow on Mt. Shasta at upper 50-50. Temps were in the 20s and the bag kept me plenty warm (on a good pad). The second was a kayak trip on the Peshtigo River in Northern WI. My boat got swamped several times. The dry-bag lived up to its billing and kept the sleeping bag dry. The third time was on the southern shore of Lake Superior. It got cold and windy one of the nights and I had no problem staying warm. The bag could use a better draft collar around the neckline so expect that it will take you a bit more effort to seal in the warmth on a cold night. I've also seen other 0 degree bags pack much tighter which is good for backpacking. It does fit in my sleeping bag compartment but it is pretty tight. Overall, this is a good bag and it is sold at a good price. I would recommend it."

Excellent cool weather bag.,August 10, 2009
By kklhfrom Pueblo, Colorado
"This bag is comfortable, and very warm when used with a pad. It's great for september , or october mountain huning or november plains hunting. When the temperture dips below 20 degrees you need a heaver bag. Still in early to mid season it;s more than cozy, and warm. It's also waterproof,And best of all for long remote high country hunts it's exremely light to carry. To sumerize my opinion of this bag I'd say "I would not trade it for any sleep bag on the market period"."

Warm and dry in the Olympic Rainforest!,May 13, 2009
By Raindancefrom the Olympic Peninsula
"I am a 60 year old Grannie that still loves the back country but not the discomforts associated with backpacking and the wet, cold, uncomfortable ground.
Problem solved!!!! I really appreciate all my Cabela's gear! The large rectangular bag is very packable because of its light weight. Most importantly, after a long day on the trail, I can stretch aching legs if I want to. On a (wonderful!) Downmat 9, I sleep as comfortable as at home in my bed.
I have the 0 bag because the damp out here on the coast and nights in the Olympics can be cold. I am warm natured as a rule, so I sometimes unzip it and use it comfortably as a throw.
I set up my Cabela's XPG single wall tent, in the living room, place my Downmat 9, BW down bag and unessential clothing in it. Break it down, fold everything carefully, and roll it up, packing it securely in a heavy black trash bag. It slides neatly in my backpack or saddle pack. If it is raining when I get to the camping site, all is secure and dry. While others are trying to set up net tents with rain flys, in the rain, I unfold my neatly folded bundle and my tent is up in a flash with my bed already rolled out and organized and nothing is wet. If it is raining when we break camp, I shake the water off my tent, dry it quickly with a shammy cloth and roll it all up again. Everything stays dry inside the tent even if here is a bit of moisture on the outside. Love my comfortable "little" home, away from home!!! My pack (for a week) now weighs under 20#...without food and bear keg.
Negatives...I don't use the BW s/bag compression sack or the Downmat blow up bag as they are a bit heavy."

Don't like mummy bags.,April 19, 2009
By MaukaJofrom Big Island of Hawaii
"After freezing one night when it got down to 14 degrees on a mountain here in Hawaii, I started a search for a down bag that would compress small for ATV camping and travel. I'm a big gal and like to move when I sleep so I researched long and hard before I choose this bag. Most bags are 2 to 4 inches narrower. Then I waited until I got to a Cabela's store so I could crawl in it. Although I must say the sales clerk looked at me like I was nuts for wanting to try it. The waterproof compression bag is nice, but too big so I put it in a smaller one and compress to about 8x12. If I need to, I'll then put it in the included sack with a bunch of other stuff. I haven't needed the 20 degree rating since I've gotten it, but the zippers work well and I just open it up or vent it. Climbing into it at the end of the day makes me smile."

Nice bag,September 2, 2008
By Dandefrom Twin Falls, Idaho
"Boundary Waters has made an excellent bag. Zippers work very well and it stuffs in the stuff bag that comes with it very nicely. My bag was rated at 0 degrees so I was a little miserable for the first couple nights because it was only about 35 out. The down did such a great job, I cooked. The light weight material is "light weight" but lends toward a clamy feeling. Others with me that have Boundary Waters bags, said that they always wear a light pair of long johns or very light pajama bottoms so you don't feel clamy agains the nylon material. Of course, that may increase the warmth a bit so you will want to pick your temperature rating carefully for your camping climates etc. Overall though, a very nice bag. I would recommend it."

Boundry Waters Rectangle Sleeping Bag,August 18, 2008
By NPKeithfrom North Platte, Nebraska
"Have not had the opportunity to try the bag outside yet, but was very happy with the delivery time and so far, the product. The bag appears well made, gives me plenty of room and the waterproof stuff sack seems to work very well. Also, the bag compresses very well and is much easier to get into a backpack than my old Polarguard bag."

Boundary Waters bag +20, long, rectangular,July 22, 2008
By Mouse2299from NE Nebraska
"This bag is warm with plenty of shoulder and leg room. Compresses down small into rain proof, stuff sack. Used first time on ATV trip to WY mountains. Zipper works fine from both inside or out. If mummy bags are too restrictive, or if you roll when you sleep, this is the ticket."

Traps moisture...ick,July 22, 2008
By emmymmfrom Green Bay, WI
"I was so excited to get this down bag. It is really hard to find a rectangular down bag! I just used it for the first time on my hiking/camping trip in the Tetons. My disappointment in the bag is with its lining material. It's almost as though I was sleeping in a plastic bag. I woke up with the bag wet and sticking to me every night until I finally stuck a fleece blanket inside to serve as a barrier. If the bag had a nicer liner I think it would have been great. It's not that I was too hot either...it just seemed to trap in normal body moisture. If you slept in poly head to toe, this bag would probably be ok, but anywhere you have bare skin touching the bag will feel sticky and gross. :( high points: very compactable and light, comes with a great water proof stuff sack, rectangular for those uf us who feel trapped in a mummy"

Boundry Waters Sleeping Bag,July 14, 2008
By pearlblue1800from Kelowna British Columbia
"This is a nice bag. I was hoping that it would pack smaller. It is definitely as described in so far as warmth is concerned. I did not get to experience its claim of being "water proof". The bag is premium priced, and I am sure that you could shop around and find a bag of similar quality, and features for a much cheaper price. Unfortunately I did not have the time to do a thorough shopping before my purchasing this product"

"Lot's of room and compresses small. I got mine for colder weather in the back country. 1st time I used mine was in high 40's to low 50's and it was very warm so I used it more like a blanket. Great quality, good price. Can't wait to try it on cold weather."
