Ultralight, highly compressible and extremely warm, this mummy-style sleeping bag is just what you need for camping in cold weather or at higher altitudes. Premier Northern? 700-fill-power goose down insulates you from the bitterest temperatures, while keeping the bag's weight and bulk to a minimum. The new lightweight ripstop nylon shell is lighter than previous models to ensure you're toting as little as possible on your back. Teamed with the nylon taffeta liner and the result is windproof, downproof, highly breathable and water-resistant performance. Each bag also has 3/4-length No. 8 YKK? zippers featuring anti-snag technology. Chevron construction delivers high loft and prevents the down from clumping, shifting and forming cold spots. Chest and back baffles, oversized draft tubes and a full hood trap warmth to keep cold air from penetrating the inside of the bag. Cabela's exclusive NightSight? drawcord system has a flat hood drawstring and round chest collar cord for easy adjustment in the dark. Includes large cotton storage sack and lightweight nylon compression stuff sack.

"bought this bag for a pack in 1st season elk hunt where you can experience weather conditions from temps in the 60's to sub freezing. In my case it was subfreezing. had around a foot of snow and temps at night were in the 5 to 0 range. I slept with my hunting gear on(thermals with wool sweater and waterproof fleece pants) was not cold in the least actually got hot a couple times. The next morning my tent had ice all over the inside with no bother to me. I don't think that I would push this bag right up to the minus 10 but held up great at 5 to 0. Also compacts down to about 1 foot diameter by a little over a foot long. About the size of an oblong basketball. I could not find a better bag for the money."

"We used those bags for the weekiend camping. These bags are great. They are water repellent and despite of bad humidity we were very comfortable. weight is another advantage. Pricewise it is hard to beat. I can not think of better sleeping bag considering price/weight."

X-Country ski trip in VT, April 7, 2008

"I took my two boy's, ages 13 and 15 on a overnight cross country ski trip in Vermont. Night time temps were in the single digits. We all used new Cabela's sleeping bags and a new XPG four man tent. All performed really well right out of the bag. No pun intended. Having said that I thought the XPG sleeping bags should have a few more features like stiffer fabric along the zipper so it will not snag on the light weight material of the bag itself. This made it slightly harder to zip the bag in the dark. Also slightly better controls of the collar and the mummy hood I believe could be made easier to use. The bags are well made and were very warm. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and cant wait to get out there again.

"I am a backpacker and backpack hunter. I have used alot of different gear and I have found this to be a great product. I am a warm sleeper but I have have used this bag in temps at -10 and found it to be very comfortable. I have not tried the -40 bag( have not needed to) but I am certain the quality and rating would be just as good. Overall I would recommend the -10 XPG to anyone wanting a high quality bag.
