"Very pricey, didnt work as well as I thought. We have a german shepherd, golden retreiver and boxer and for the most part we were pulling them up this ladder, or pulling them up the side. I feel it kept slipping and just didnt work. I returned it and I am looking for something that will work without having to get soaking wet."

"big and bulky. will not work properly on my boat that has only one step on the ladder. still working on some kind of modification. will have to see what happens later in the year when I can get into the water and try to make it work. guess the biggest thing about it is that it is big and bulky and takes up precious space on the boat."

"This ladder worked great. We have four dogs, two small (12# and 15#), and two medium (45# and 50#). The big dogs are constantly in and out of the boat so this was definitely better than wrestling them in the boat. Even the small dogs made use of the ladder. We had several problems with the ladder; First off, it's not easy to install once we were in the boat. We tested the ladder on land first, and it was simple enough. To easily install it in the water you basically have to get in the water with it. When the water got rough the ladder moved some and the hooks moved from the ladder wrung. Our biggest problem was that we only have one way on and off the boat, that ladder. It is stated on the ladder that it is not safe for human use, so you have to find another way on and off the boat when installed. Our suggestion to anyone who buys this is; open it up and install on your boat outside the water, that way you know how it fits. It's difficult to install in rough water, so we suggest using it in a lake or river. Also its pretty good sized, even folded up (3ft by 1ft). But we live at a lake with four dogs, so this was a great buy for us!!! If you can get past the small stuff it really is a great product with plenty of safety features!"

"I read the reviews and thought I could still make it work for my boat. I have a Lowe Roughneck and thought that I could make it work for a side entry. The design flaw is in the clamping mech in my opinion. First off there is only one clamp that screws down and needs to be very tight. It seems that eventually the aluminum threads on both the arm and the mounting bracket will strip. The clamp has two V angle pieces. One hooks to the egde of the boat and the otheris on the screwing mech which tightens down to the inside of the gunnel rail. My boat is flat on the inside of the gunnel rail so I installed a piece of 1" angle iron to accept the clamp better. No matter how tight it was when pressure was added to the platform it would pop free. The platform is great and would of done a great job. I have returned it and am in the hunt for another platform...easier said then done."

"This product is better suited for a lake or flat body of water. It was impossible to install the ladder on our boat in a bay with small waves. The ladder twisted sideways and the bottom half came loose. It was useless to us. We absolutely could not install it."

"I have a full sized bass boat I sometimes duck hunt out of. After reviewing all (little) available I purchased the Paws Aboard ladder. Sturdy for plastic, fits the transom ladder fairly well and fairly easy to hook up and take down. I set it up in my driveway with a stool to support it and led my 1 year old yellow lab up the ladder. The second time she ran right up it. Have not tried it in the water but it should work fine. (will paint it camo for duck hunting season)"

"I would not recommend this ladder to anyone with a pontoon boat. Although, we've done some modifications to the ladder and have made it workable. Even with the modifications it still isn't great. Definately not worth the price."
