"Installed Norinco Type 63 in this stock. Perfect fit for barreled receiver. Minor fitting for hand guard. This rifle accepts AK mags and does so now easier than the original thumbhole stock. Only complaint is the included bolts and nuts to attach the stock body. Cheap stripping stuff..."

Tapco SKS Stock with lower rail,

"Bought this on Friday afternoon at 3pm. Installed and ready for the range by 4:30pm. Very easy, drop-in fit. The handguard/gas tube pin is somewhat tricky to remove on my SKS, but once I pulled the old one off, the new one went right into place. Totally worth the cost and effort to replace the old wood stock. This new one is very sturdy and surprisingly lightweight. I highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their SKS."

"The stock went on the rifle easy and if you have a small file and can do your nails you can mount this stock up.
The rifle is lighter and handles better in the style of the current method of carry and engagement. All attachment points for the
current style of sling are there. I am not a black rifle person but this makes the old rifle look and handle like today and seems very strong and adjustable.
For the guy that worries about it making his rifle "jump around"
because of the lighter weight. If you have a problem with the recoil of the 7.62x39, try a 223."

"Looks very sharp and functions much better with the new stock. Some filing on the inside of the stock around the magazine might be neccessary to ensure a good fit. My Sporter accepts 30 round AK mags only. They are wider than the original SKS mags. Remember, the magazine attaches to the undercarriage of the barrell, not the stock so just enough filing to easily fit the mag through is in order.
PS: If you need a scope - use a scout mount on an AK or SKS. Much better than attaching to the forearm or dust cover."

sks replacement stock,

"Assembly was fairly easy, except that the screwholes for the stock didnt align...The sks ( which used to hold a VERY tight pattern at 75 yards with just original sights ) now looked really awsome when finished...but when I took it to the range, it bounced all over the place...even at 50 yards...it's way too light . The Russian scope I also purchased at the same time maxed out at the full range of the "down" setting just sighting it in with the new stock. I was not happy with the finished product and I ended up taking it all back. If all you want is to look like youre carrying around an assult rifle, fine...but if you want something useful when finished...keep your original heavier wood stock ."

"The stock looks great, had to do some fabrication though. If you buy this stock you may or may not have to depending on the make of your rifle. If you need a part for this be prepared to pay $50.00 or more."

"As stated with most other reviews, this replacement stock is excellent. I had similar problems with the pin on the gas tube as other reviewers stated. Upon closer examination, the pin on my chinese sks was actually a rivet. The tapco kit came with two rivets, so I drilled out the old one, placed the new one with the help of a vise and drimmel, and the rest of the replacement went like a breeze. The new stock looks great!"

"Well it was work getting the gas tube stock off.Then back on.I.E.removing pin and putting the new stock back on.
But not as tough as everything i read. Be ready with a punch kit, mallot, vise and some needle nose pliers. When finished the stock was tight and really built well.I have a couple of sks rifles,keeping one collectors. But this ones the toy.really good base to play. Real deal."

"This is a must if you are interested in upgrading your SKS, and want a look and feel that really sets this weapon apart from the original. This is the best. I had to do a bit of file and sand on the stock. But when it was all done it was a custom fit with the look of class. I am more than satisfied with this product. Thank You!"

"Youtube provided some very helpful videos on assembling and disassempling the sks. There are also videos on the Tapco stocks in particular. I have had it on the range once now and it works great and looks very cool. Bought 2 magazines for it and they fit together much better than the original equipment."

"my Sks was always to short for a scope that was until i tried the tapco stock with the new stock not only can i now use a scope, but i can adjust it to fit anyone.I mounted a fixed 4 power scope,and its dead on.No mods were used,everything from my SKS dropped right in."

"A good looking, good fitting stock. Save yourself some trouble, though. Use the original upper hand guard and paint it flat black rather than using the plastic replacement part. After painting it looks and fits great and getting the gas tube out out of the original upper hand guard and into the new part is a real bear unless you have some sort of arbor press. A punch and hammer will NOT get it done (at least not mine!). Makes an SKS really look wicked! I'm happy."
