"I find the Comparator easy to use and very accurate. I can't imagine how you could produce precision reloads without it.
Every bullet has slight differences at the ogive and measuring any other way will not produce rounds that are tailored for your specific gun.
I wouldn't reload without one and this one works great."

"This is a good tool to set your bullet depth when seating, particularly if you change bullets (particularly when used with the OAL tool to establish the max length of the throat in your rifle). Due to different shapes (and inconsistencies in manufacture) the contact point of the bullet with the barrel isn't always exactly the same distance from the point. I was seating Sierra 168 MK in .308 based on overall length. I switched over to Lapua 167 Scenar and seated to same overall length. Not a good idea. The ogive is a bit steeper on the Lapua and I was seating the bullet into the lands! I seated another 0.010" deeper and the groups tightened significantly. This tool will let you measure and set your base to ogive contact point length to the dimension your particular gun likes.
One caution: the actual dimension that determines how much "jump" there is to the lands is the ogive to cartridge SHOULDER, not to the cartridge base. So if your headspace setting varies, your jump will vary as well.
By itself, this tool will make your reloads more consistent. Combined with an OAL chamber gauge and headspace measuring device, you can control the "jump" distance as well."

"I'm just getting into the reload game and this is an awsome tool. I checked the factory loads I have now and there is upto .025 difference in some of the 308 win rounds. This will make a huge difference when I load my own. For the price it should include the OAL tool."

"Great tool for use with caliper. Very simple and easy to use. Very precise. Made seating of bullet more precise/consistent and improved accuracy. Improved confidence and saves time and second guessing yourself. Would not be without one. Is a must for any reloader. Set the Ogive off of the lans to exact dimentions easily to your specifications. "I found the Comparator to be simple to set up and use. It slips right on to the Vernier I use and the off set makes it easy to measure when using the OAL Gauge. The bullet length to the Ogive is so much more reliable than measuring the length to the tip also."

"The only way to get your handloads to fit the chamber. Very accurate and easy to use. I got it to use on a 30-06 and a 375HH. I was using C.O.L. for the 30-06 and thought I was done with testing. Using this tool has tightens my groups! I can't wait for the 375."

"When reloading all my OALs used to vary .005" from the tips. Now from measuring from the ojive by lengths are accurate +/- .001" & my groups have significantly closed up. Comes with 6 inserts should I want to load different calibers so there's really no other "extras" to purchase (unless you want to load an uncommon caliber)."
