"Wanted something to carry a revolver while in the deer or squirrel woods. This looked like it would be comfortable to wear under a hunting coat.
Initial impressions are that the workmanship is good, but the leather is fairly stiff. It's also noisy, so it will need some leather treatment to soften it up. The interior is unlined, so it might be a little rough on a gun with a high polish blue finish.
A S&W model 10 (heavy barrel) fits perfectly . A Taurus model 94 with 5" barrel fits pretty well, and this is good news, because there aren't a lot of holsters made for that model. A 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk (old model) fits IF you stretch the barrel section of the holster. I wrapped a piece of 1" pipe in several layers of cotton cloth and forced it into the holster to stretch it. After that, the Blackhawk fits, somewhat snugly, but workable.
This product gets 5 stars for functionality, and 3 stars for overall quality. 4 stars is the net."

"Excellent quality leather and stitching. I softened it up with Lexol leather conditioner and it came out beautifully. My Rossi .38 fits nicely as does a SA .22 with a 4" barrel. It's a terrific shoulder holster."

"The holster is well made and easy to wear. It holds several of my pistols securely, yet easy to draw them out. As one reviewer reccomended, I soaked it in water and wrapped the pistol in plastic wrap before holstering it, then let it dry. I would reccomend this to anyone for an inexpensive, practical holster."

"Good value for the money. It will also fit any 4" barrel Smith & Wesson "K" frame. I use it for both a Model 10 with a 5 inch barrel, and a 4" Model 19 with adjustable sights. It DOES NOT fit any Ruger Blackhawk or "similar type" as advertised! However, if you have any K frame Smith with 4in. or 5 in. barrel, it's perfect. I also live in a humid area of the country, and the webbing for the extra ctgs. works great without turning the brass green like leather does."

"This is a very good deal that I think will make most users happy in terms of value and quality. My Victory model revolver fits in it as expected and the ammo carrier securely holds 13 rounds of 38 special ammo. I have seen in other reviews that both the holster and carrier are snug until broken in and I concur with them. With use they will break in and the fit will be perfect. My only complaint is that the shoulder strap is a little narrow and during shipment it got twisted to the point that it digs into my shoulder. This will ease off as the holster breaks in over time. The bottom line is that I have no regrets and would buy it again."

Good Fit on Ruger RDA84G Gov't Revolver,February 27, 2009

"This holster is a glove fit my military version of the Ruger Police Service Six 4" barrel Model RDA-84G as made for USN Master At Arms and USMC Embassy Guards in the early 1980s. Quality of materials and workmanship are fully equal to the VN era US military issue item which were Korean and WWII leftovers. Shoulder strap at max. adjustment is long enough for a 6'1" 260 lb. who at age 60 is 50 pounds heavier than he was back when he was Pop-Eye the Sailor Man. Only caution is to oil strap and work it to improve its flexibility before readjusting at thge buckle, because the shiny finished surface of the leather will crack if bent into a sharp radius. Use neatsfoot oil on the strap and Sno-Seal on the holster and cotton webbing to protect it from moisture. Also wax the Lift-The-Dot faster to ease strap removal. Holster is comfortable carrying the revolver while driving a truck, tractor, or when in the boat."

The Victory Holster size issues,January 20, 2009

"The holster quality is OK for the price point. The sizing is large enough for XXL folks. The only short coming size wise is if you have a very, very long torso.
The problem with the holster is the size of the holster itself. It will not fit a medium revolver. There is not enough room for the trigger guard. I tried a Ruger (GP100) and a S&W (686).
The holster sizing is too small for anything but the narrowest of autos. My only auto that it properly fits is a Browning High Power...it is a perfect fit. Really, it fits like a glove on a High Power...and this is the only reason I will keep the holster. 1911's are far too tight, the slide it too wide. Sig 228, CZ 75, Ruger P345 are all too wide. My Kahr's fit great width wise, but the holdter is too long (my P9 is what I tried). It may be great for the larger/longer barrel Kahr's...but why would you carry a Kahr in something like this?? A PPK won't fit correctly. Well, I guess you see my point. If you want a cool High Power holster...go for it...any other handgun...pass."

"I own a Ruger Bearcat 22lr in stainless steel. This holster makes it easy to take along on day hikes, and is also useful during rounds of plinking. It adjusts easily to fit me, my wife, or my daughter. It was easy to put on, just put an arm through and pulled it over my head. The leather strap that holds the pistol in the holster has a good snap that takes a firm pull to open and light touch to close. The belt loop snaps open with the same type of snap, so I don't need to take my belt loose to get the holster secured to it. The ammo holding portion holds tight to 22lr ammo and is an upgrade from loose bullets in a pocket on long hikes. I have used a traditional hip holster before to keep a pistol handy around camp and while hiking and hunting. This holster is definetely more useful to me, with no snagging it on branches and vegetation seeds and leaves, also higher on my body and therefore drier. The holster was exactly what I was looking for. It didn't cost nearly as much as I thought I was going to have to spend to get a useful peice of equipment."

"Love the holster. Especially for driving. It keeps my pistol in easy reach while I'm sitting behind the wheel. Canvas shell sleeves keep brass from corroding like it does with leather. Only suggestion would be a little wider leather at the shoulder so it doesn't dig in with extended wear. I carry a Uberti single action .38 in it. Looks and fells great."
