Redington™ Crosswater Outfit

The redesigned, 34 million-modulus IM6 graphite blank delivers exceptional feel and a crisp, yet forgiving medium-fast action for precision casts. The sharp navy blue blank is matched with an uplocking reel seat, silicone carbide stripping guides and AA-grade cork handle. Includes a divided cloth bag for added protection when in storage. Outfits include rod, Crosswater reel, weight-forward fly line, backing and leader. The Crosswater Reel is constructed of high-density graphite composite with a large arbor construction, an exclusive Rulon drag surface, a quick-change spool, and a Koyo Japanese one-way clutch. A great choice for both freshwater and saltwater applications.

"I bought this outfit to see if I want to revisit my old fly fishing hobby now that I have retired. Answer, "yes." I'll probably bridge into better quality gear next season, but this was a good transitional tool."

"I am a long time casual fisherman and have just started learning about fly fishing. In getting advise from various sources I have been told to go with a quality rod and reeel rather than start our with a less expensive cheaply made outfit. I am very pleased with the Redington Crosswater combo. It is well made, comes complete and ready to fish and seems like a natural extension of a person's arm and hand. I am very pleased."

"This rod is amazing for the price. I upgraded the reel with a discontinued Cabelas SR 1 reel (also great deal) and its an amazing set-up. Delivers a very smooth, crisp feel that makes the perfect presentation on the water. Cabelas really has some great deals!"

"I bought this as a replacement for a browning rod I fished for many years. So far it has proven it can handle small streams, and larger rivers. It is forgiving in its castability, excellent for the new flyfisher. If you are fishing BIG Water and/or laying long casts you may want to consider a faster action. Overall I would recommend this, and have, to others looking for a good rod to learn on or a great rod for small streams and big trout."

"i love my new fly fly rod went down to deep pond in ny and caught 2 chain pickerel to 24 inches and a 18inch brown trout with a few jumbo perch in 90 min. consider buying a flyrod to add to your rod collection its well worth it and this rod is deffinalty underpriced for its quality"

"Seems to do the job with little issue, didnt like that the line and backing were wound backward for a right had retrieve (which is the way it was received). Other than this minor issue the rod and reel have been slaying the panfish."

"I really like the rod and reel. I feel they are of good quality. However, the leader and fly line that come with this leave a lot to be desired. The first 4 knots I attempted to tie to my fly (2 improved clinch, 2 trilene), the leader broke. Fed up, I swapped out the leader and used another leader around the same size (no issues there). Also, out of the box I don't feel the line is all that smooth...almost like it's been in use for a season. I almost feel like I'll need to replace the line sooner rather than later. I hope the backing is in good condition...

If the leader and line were of better quality/condition, I would not hesitate to give a review of 5 stars. Instead I'm giving it a 4."

"i bought this rod cause i broke my other rod and i had to send it back to redington so i bought this rod for a back up, but when i used it i like it as much as my more expensive rod. so i us my crosswater rod and save my other rod for back up. redington is very good about the warranty i had a fs model for 13 yrs and it was discontinued i fill and broke the tip and they send me a new rod that was better then the one i broke. thanks goat"
