Easy to program,

"I followed the directions, took, oh, about 5 seconds and it works fine. I can't tell you how tough they are, the old one was used when I got it, but this is a must have. I can have someone on the bow fighting a fish and I can operate the motor from anywhere."

Can't Live Without It!!,

"My first little controller lasted four years. Got the new one and it fired right up and has worked perfectly. This little remote, about the size of a wrist watch, is the ONLY way to run a trolling motor in my opinion. Why mess with that big clumsy foot control when you can have this little thing on your wrist and run the motor from anywhere on the boat!!??
To each his own.....but I can't live without this little device. Heck, I don't even know where my foot control is any more!"

"The CoPilot Transmitter works great. I already have one and ordered another one so I could share control of my trolling motor with my fishing partner. My only disappointment with the purchase is that the transmitter comes without a strap."

"great deal and super fast shipping only downfall was that it almost was lost like the first remote as delivery driver left it on the front steps on a very windy day and i found the package in the neighbors driveway luckily. i have ordered in the past and this will not stop me but could you please make winnipegs new cabelas a ship to branch as would save tons of money on shipping and duties and would buy lots more"

Reliability,

"The product works fine, but I have had one of the original units fail after two years, but which is only used about three weeks out of the year. Also, I've also had the receiver fail one time which required a return to the factory. This happened in the first year and was still under waranty. My take: reliability needs to be addressed by MinnKota."

"I now have purchased two additional co-pilot transmitters. The one that came with the trolling motor does not work anymore.
I really like using this system versus a foot control. It is more precise and less work.
However the remote touch pad should have lasted longer than two fishing seasons. Batteries were not the problem.
I purchased a spare as the new remote buttons are getting sluggish already."

Copilot is excellent, but could be improved,

"The transmitters work very well. I would prefer if there was a more granular (slider, knob, etc.) form of control rather than settings 1-10 for the motor.
To the person that suggested the new transmitter disabled the beeping, it is probably because when they "synched" the transmitter to their motor, they changed its beep setting. You simply hold both the speed-up and speed-down buttons simultaneously for a second or two to switch between 1 of 3 "beep modes", one of which is silent."

"If you have 2 guys on your boat, each of you having your own CoPiolt transmitter is an advantage. No more passing the transmitter back and forth. Don't even get the foot control out any more."

"Is easy to use and great for keeping the boat on top of stacked fish. I used the unit to stay on top of lake trout, and it worked very well. It was easy to use with finger touch response while maintaining a rythmic jig presentation.
However the Buttons Wear out with excessive use. The Buttons on the Minn Kota Co-Pilot Replacement Transmitter could be more durable for longer lifespan of unit. Overall it's a good unit I would recommend to my Friends."

Replacement copilot remote,

"Some small difference in the replacement model. The orginal model would beep each time a button was pressed. I could tell when I was at the maximum or minimum speed. With the replacement remote, it doesn't beep. Some may have found the beep annoying, but I found it helpful.
Overall, I still love the copilot remote system. I find it much easier to use than the foot control.
It would be a great future feature if the autopilot could be turned off or on with the remote."
