Extremely fast, rugged and low profile, the FastFire II sight is an ideal sighting solution for pinpoint accuracy
on handguns, shotguns and rifles. It simplifies the act of aiming, eliminating the need to focus on and align the front
sight, rear sight and target. The aiming red dot and target are always in focus and properly aligned for the
ultimate in accuracy. Integrated light sensor self-adjusts the red-dot brightness for optimal performance. Although it
weighs a mere 1.6 oz., this waterproof sight has repeatedly proven its toughness on semiautomatics, slug guns,
shotguns and high-power rifles. The housing is made of metal for strength and durability. Lenses are precision ground
and polished to almost totally eliminate parallax and provide a clear, crisp sight picture. It is fully windage and
elevation adjustable and lockable. The included plastic hood covers the light sensor and puts the unit in sleep mode
when the on/off switch is set to on. Powered by a lithium CR2032 battery. FastFire Mounts sold separately.

Don't use this for a Kimber!,September 10, 2009
By Bernertfrom Boise, Id.
"Neither of the dovetails provided fit my Grand Raptor. I had to file one down (I know... should have stopped right there and returned it). Now, after only 250 - 300 rounds, the P.O.A. is moving, AND it turns itself off about ever other, or every third shot!"

Fast fire,June 15, 2009

"Love it except that I had to file down the mounting screw to get it to fit my Buckmark. Not sure if it is a Browning or Burris issue but the sight is plain awsome."

Good product,May 9, 2009
By TWMiddlefrom Georgia
"I've been pleased with this red dot site, especially considering I got it for $150 or so less than similar red dots guys in my club use (JPoint & Doctor). I initially had it on my Glock 24 (.40 cal) & it was fine for plinking. I recently transferred it to a S&W .22 for varmint hunting & found the red dot to be too bright, which made it difficult to hit small targets. It almost has to be dark before the "integrated light sensor self-adjusts the brightness for optimal performance." Taking the advice from some of the other comments, I put a small piece of tape over the sensor to keep the brightness reduced. That solved the problem & the dot is still plenty bright even in the middle of the day. Now the only problem is that I have to buy another one to put back on the Glock."

Burris Gold FastFire Sight,March 10, 2009
By hensbobfrom Panhandle of Oklahoma
"I was in the market for a red dot type sight for my new Springfield XD-M .45ACP, as I had never used this type of sight before. The XD-M is an extremely accurate handgun with the factory iron sights, but the FastFire makes it a dream. It has a small profile and sights in quickly. Removing the rear sight from the XDM proved a little challanging, but afterwards, the FastFire Sight slid right on. I have shot about 250 rounds with the FastFire mounted and have not had to re-adjust or re-sight in. IT TAKE THE RECOIL AND KEEPS ON TARGET. For the price, this is an exceptional sight."

Great on Benelli M4 shotgun,February 24, 2009
By fiberguyfrom Ventura, California
"I bought this for my second Benelli M4 and really like it. My first one has an Eotech Holosight which requires me to break my cheek-weld in order to get a proper sight picture unless I use a cheek pad. This FastFire is a much, much lower profile and I on my new M4 shotgun, I can keep a good cheek-weld and get a great sight picture. I'm still looking for an accessory mount that allows me to mount it behind the rear ghost-ring sight so I can co-witness the new optic but I can't do that with my Eotech either. Excellent product and outstanding value-for-dollar purchase. I have shot an easy 1,500 rounds through it, (buck and slug), and it has performed flawlessly - I have yet to change the batteries."

This sight works very well.,October 22, 2008
By Marlin1881from Fort Collins, CO
"I put this on a 1911, as I wanted something small and light. I initially had concerns on whether it would work or not, as I was concerned about slowing down the slide recoil, as that might hinder shell ejection. Not a problem at all. This sight only weighs 2 ounces, and I've not had to adjust either my handloads, nor the recoil spring. I was also wondering about durability on my 1911, as the sight would recoil right along with the slide. I've now used it for 1.5 years and I would imagine I have 2000 rounds with this sight. Again, no problems at all. In fact, I've won the last 3 seasons of our local shooting league, while using this sight. It works for me.
One item to note, is that the dot is at a higher sight plane than the open sights, so it does take a bit to get used to. I've thought about having a gunsmith mill a slide down to where the Burris' light sensor is "just above" the top of the slide, and then tap screw holes for the base to mount to. That would lower the dot to just about the same plane as open sights. Now, if I could get someone to donate a slide for this cause...
Another item to note, as referenced by a previous review poster, was that the FastFire sometimes doesn't interpret the ambient light conditions properly. This happens to me in a "dimly lit" indoor shooting range. I just take a small piece of masking tape and cover the light sensor, and the red dot is dimmed appropriately. This isn't a big deal to me, as the FastFire works so well with all it's other functions.

Burris FastFire Sight,October 20, 2008
By uglyman
"I saw the sight on a cable show mounted to a vent-rib of a shotgun. When I received the sight I discovered that the show mounting of the sight was a custom job and had to order a shotgun scope mount to accept the sight (a cabelas tech was very helpful contacting Burris and finding out that the mount that I saw was a custom and aiding me in ordering the necessary parts). Even though the scope mount elevated the line of sight, the targeted item was not only entirely visible but displayed the exact point that the barrel was aimed at. I sighted the sight using a bore sight and 10 patterns at the range. I then shoot 2 rounds of trap 22,23, I have not shot trap for 25 years. On opening day of duck season I could not miss. The fact that the sight was elevated cost me 1-1.5 seconds to establish target and proper lead but the accuracy more than made up for this. I now intend to proceed with a custom mount to lower the sight to the level almost that of the vent-rib(after I call Burris one more time to see if they plan on this). This one is a keeper and only got 4 stars because of the mounting problems."

BURRIS GOLD FAST FIRE,May 2, 2008
By ROCKY4570from COLUMBUS, MS
"EASILY THE BEST REFLEX SIGHT I'VE USED. I'VE REPLACED THE PEEP SIGHTS ON SEVERAL (3) RIFLES WITH FAST FIRES. MY EYES AREN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE USING PEEP SIGHTS, BUT THE FAST FIRE WORKS GREAT. I'M ABLE TO GET 2" GROUPS AT 100 YARDS, SO IT'S PLENTY ACCURATE FOR HUNTING."

Tiny, lightweight night sight,December 19, 2007
By Nutnfancyfrom SLC, Utah
"Keeping weight to a minimum I have mounted this sight on my Kel-Tec SU-16C .223 rifle. I have used this sight at 50-100 yrds in both precision and rapid tactical shooting. Overall it is a well-built and reliable sight (so far). It's lightweight and quality construction are its strongpoints. However I do not like that the user cannot adjust the brightness of the dot and that is a definite tactical hindrance: the dot would often go full-bright on me at my 100 yd shoots making the needed precision impossible. I discovered placing my offhand index finger in front of the sight would fool it into thinking it's darker and I could control the dimness that way. But that is a ridiculous work around that shouldn't be necessary. Also I would like the dot to be 2 MOA (just like the Aimpoint ML3 which I also use a lot) in size as I feel it's too big for real precise work. Make the Burris FastFire a 2 MOA, brightness-adjustable-by-user dot and this becomes an ideal red dot sight."

Good, but fit is in question,December 1, 2007
By trailhiker1from CA
"Bought this sight for my Beretta Neos pistol. My pistol comes with a Weaver sight rail. The burris Fastfire scope includes a Weaver base and it wasn NOT anywhere close to fitting the weaver sight rail on the pistol. You may not have this problem with your gun, but the fit was not even close on my gun. Had to grind about .050" off the diameter of the mounting screw of the Burris mount to get it to drop into the Beretta sight rail. That's about 30% of the mounting screw! I contacted both Beretta and Burris for assistance. Beretta indicated that it was not their issue. Burris indicated that they have heard of similar problems and recommended that I modify mount or gun's sight rail accordingly to get it to fit. There was no way I was going to file away on my gun, so I opted to file the Burris base down. I got it to work OK, but I spent at least 2 hours of delicate grinding/filing. Hope I didn't jeopardize the integrity of the Burris base. Not sure who's fault this really is, but I would think that the Weaver style base is an industry standard, and that companies would hold true to it.
That aside, I really like the looks and function of this sight. It is incredibly small and looks great on top of a pistol. I am new to shooting and don't have the steadiest hands, but I was able to maintain 6in groups at 25yds freehand, and 3" groups with sandbags. At 10yds with sandbags I was well within a 2" circle. Very pleased. For those who have not used red dot scopes be aware that they clearly show how much your hands are shaking! The red dot dances around the target if you are not steady!
Overall, great sight but I am VERY upset that Burris and/or Beretta couldn't give me a clear answer on why the fit was so bad. Do Weaver sights not have industry standard dimensions that manufactures must follow??"

"MOUNTED THIS SIGHT ON A RUGER MKIII. AFTER SIGHTING IT IN, IT HOLDS DEAD ON. EASY TO SEE DOT IN ALL KINDS OF LIGHTING SITUATIONS. WOULD HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT ANY LONG RANGE SHOOTING WITH THIS AS IT DOES NOT MAGNIFY, BUT FOR PLINKING AT CLOSE TO MODERATE DISTANCES, IT CAN'T BE BEAT. ESPECIALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT IT HAS A SEPARATE OFF-ON SWITCH ALONG WITH A COVER AND AN AUTO-ADJUSTING DOT."
