Customer Reviews for ReelBait® Red Tail Short Shank Flasher Jig
"I have used these for about five years now and was always impressed with the versatility of these in open water situations . . for walleyes, pike and yellow perch. Amazingly, I recently had an incredible frozen water experience with eighth once flashers and large crappie. Used with either live minnows or articially scented products, flasher jigs outproduced conventional rigs about three to one, especially for size. When "dead sticked", negative mood crappies would eyeball the flasher/minnow and strike very agressively with a slight motion to make the flasher blade dance."

"This jig has worked very well for me this spring and summer. The walleyes and other fish really love it when it is baited with a minnow and fished slowly. It also seemed to not get hung up in rocks and snags as easily as other jigs."

"If you have used the erie jig,you will love these. I can feel the blade spinning on 8 pound test in twenty feet of water. Excellent product that helped me finish second in a walleye tourament last weekend. I use a Whistler Jig 99% of the time, but these are what the fish wanted."

SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL SERIES - OVERLOOKED POWER-BAIT,March 17, 2007
By MOMknowsfishingfrom Cupar, Saskatchewan CANADA
"I love jigs. A lot of the clients I guide are jig fishermen. A jig fisherman loves the feel of a fish slurping the lure on the drop and the distinct "tick" that accompanies it. The moment of truth, when he crosses that fish's eyes, then the pleasure of fighting a strong fish on light line using a quality rod and reel. Finesse. Light line, light jigs, intense concentration and bountiful rewards. That is exactly what the SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL FLASHER JIG by REELBAIT TACKLE is all about. Fished with finesse plastics or livebait, the SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL has the balance, compact shape, subtle blade action and predator-stimulating red-colored cosmetics that adds up to a lure that is far more than the sum of it's parts. However, don't be fooled or seduced by what appears to be the ultimate finesse jig. No, when fished aggressively, the increased action causes the SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL to fish more like a bladebait than a jig. On the rip, the blade zipps hard and, due to the infinite number of ways the blade can move on the fall, has an erratic action all the way to bottom. When fished in open water or through the ice, the SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL draws in fish from a distance and provokes jaw-snapping strikes. This winter, while icefishing and viewing fish on an underwater camera, many walleye rushed in so fast, and snapping so violently, at the ripped 1/4 oz. REDTAIL, that they often miss the lure the first time; but, not the second! The 1/8 oz. REDTAIL when applied to panfish, particularly the Cherry Bomb and Penguin glow colors, produced the same results. Deeper water applications, during the fall open water season, with the 3/8 oz. proved equally as effective for walleye and bass wherever baldebaits would typically be used. Can't wait to try them on lake trout! REELBAIT'S SHORT-SHANK REDTAIL FLASHER JIG...not "just" the perfect finesse jig!"
