Love this Jacket!,October 7, 2009
By MIkidfrom MI
"Although I have only owned the jacket for a short time, I have been extremely pleased with the jacket so far. It was on sale, $100.00 off the regular price and has performed beyond expectation. I have worn it in a cold, windy rainstorm and it performed very well.
If anything against it, I would say that it works too well. The velcro can be tough to open, and the sleeve cuffs are tight. Even that isn't a bad thing really.
I would recommend this jacket to a friend who wanted to stay warm in the rain."

Good-n-Plenty,August 4, 2009
By cullen8rfrom Connecticut Tournament Fisherman
"Good over all jacket. Well made. Water proof, yes even the zipper area. This is really a 3 season system. As we all know the 09 season up north was very wet and cooler than normal, Jacket met all expectations until it turned warmer. The zip out liner is a very nice coat by it's self. The only true down side to this system is NO WAY TO CONCEAL THE HOOD. When running down the water @70+mph if it's not on your head then you have to tuck it away down the back of your coat kind of a pain. C-Dog"

Cabela's Dry-Plus Classic Guide Parka a BIG PLUS,June 30, 2009
By Carver2kfrom Brigantine Marsh, New Jersey Ontario, Canada
"I recently purchase the above product and the bibs and went on a fishing trip in Northern Ontario. It rained every day and the wind blew for four out of five days fishing. I was the only one completely dry and comfortable. Great design, great fit, great product. Thanks Cabela's"

Cabela's Dry-Plus Classic Guide Parka-Regular,January 6, 2009
By CDCHfrom North Alabama
"After an extremely wet Fall, and being tired of going home from fishing, WET, I bought the Dry-Plus Classic Guide Parka and Bibs.
The first time I used them, of course, it rained very heavily. Good test, I thought, and it was. The Parka and Bibs shed water like a ducks back. I did not have a wet thread on my body after 9 hours fishing. They did the job very nicely, thank you, Cabelas.
The reason I didn't give it a five is because the neopreme inside cuffs are really tight and I had a problem getting my hands out of the sleeves without turning the Parka inside out between rains. My hands are small and the cuffs should be snug, not tight.
Thanks again Cabela's for selling a good product. I would buy the dry-lock Classic Guide Parka and Bibs again, if I ever needed another rain suit. CDCH, from Alabama"

a very good shell,December 9, 2008
By jimbobee
"i wore this parka as a shell a couple a weeks ago on a day hike and an overnight hike in the green mountains of vermont. it was a cold week so rain wasn't a bother. it was a great parka and performed well. like other reviewers have noted, the velcro is industrial strength. i found my sleeve caught several times at different locations on the coat for a second or so. it's no big thing but it is annoying. the only other complaint i have is that the cap of the hood when it's down pokes me in the back of my head."

Wonderful Product!,June 29, 2008
By Purplehayes2from Chicago, IL
"My husband and I go fishing quite frequently. We have been taking our vacations in Canada for the last 9 years and have recently been going up twice a year. I love to fish but hate being cold and wet. Not only does it make my trip miserable it spoils it for him when we have to get off of the water early. I finally broke down this year and bought both the Dry-Plus Parka and Bibs from Cabelas. Being a women I have a hard time finding rain gear that fits and that is suitable for rough weather. I was thrilled to find out this rainsuit fit me! I had tried a Men's medium rainsuit from a competitor but found I was swimming in it. I love all of the pockets the parka offers. Plenty of room to keep things dry. The credit card pocket near the main zipper is really neat. The only thing I had to get used to was how the hood snugs down. It can be a little difficult to tighten since the elastic is inside by the zipper. I ordered this suit in time to take it up to Canada for our June trip. A cold front had come through so I ended up wearing the suit for four out of our seven days. I tend to get cold very easily so I wore both the bibs and parka. There was enough room underneath to add polar fleece and/or a sweatshirt when needed. This suit did a wonderful job of keeping the wind off of me and keeping me warm. During the last three days of our trip it started to rain hard. I was able to snug down the hood and keep totally dry! My husband had insisted on keeping his old rainsuit. He was adamant about not spending the money on a Dry-Plus suit for himself when there was nothing wrong with his current one. After being poured on we came back to the cabin to rest up. He had to change his clothes and lay his wallet out to dry. He had gotten soaked through the rainsuit. I was totally dry! The last day of our trip included extremely brutal weather. We were the only boat at the lodge to venture out in the morning. Waves, wind and driving rain made fishing quite difficult. Again I stayed dry while he got wet. During our trip back I casually mentioned buying him a new Dry-Plus rainsuit for his birthday. His Dry-Plus parka and bibs arrived last week.
Pros - stands up to extreme weather, keeps you dry, keeps wind off, well made.
Cons - Velcro on bibs can be difficult (but I'll put up with it since it kept me dry!), hood adjustment takes a little getting used to.
I would definitely recommend both the Dry-Plus parka and bibs. As with other reviewers I wish I would have spent the money a long time ago."

A stich in time saves nine! AGGGGGHHHHH!,March 14, 2008
By PointSpecialfrom U.S.A.
"Water proof, keeps out the wind. Was used on a Winter camping trip when rain was a potential and it did rain buckets. I think that the stiches on the sleeves near the cuffs are weak and there should be more stiches in this area. Within a weekend of camping, the stiches started to rip and become unraveled and the abuse I gave the coat was minimal to non-existant.
I haven't sent the coat back to Cabelas yet because I've misplaced the receipt, but will do so as soon as I find it.
If the stiches were more durable I would give this coat an excellent rating. I am annoyed that this type of a thing has occured. When I think of Cabelas gear I think of ready to use and durable, this coat has a weak spot and the stiches should be firmed up and made of more durable material."

Best Rain Gear ever!,February 27, 2008
By JoeFromBrooklynfrom Brooklyn, NY
"I recently got the Cabela's Dry Plus Classic Guide Parka, and I love it! This garment is bulletproof. It keeps the water out and the warmth in. I recommend this rain gear to anyone who has to stand out in the wet for long periods of time. Everybody comments on how great it looks. And it was on sale! You can spend 300-400 dollars to find Rain Gear as good as the Dry Plus Guide Parka. Thank you Cabela's for another fantastic Garment. Cheers, Joe From Brooklyn"
