decent scope,November 17, 2009
By browder16from kingsport, tn
"It has great clarity for the price the only problem I have with it is that you can't see the bdc lines which is one of the main reasons why I purchased the scope. On the flip side its nice to now that at least someone is catering to us lever-action shooters. It is a great scope for my lever action gun"

Scope Dead On out to 300 yards!!!,October 27, 2009
By BrokenArrowHuntClubfrom Salem, Wisconsin
"I know it may be hard to believe, but with the Leverevolution ammo and this scope, my Marlin 336, leveraction in .30-30 was right on all the way to 300 yards. No kidding. 8in groups at 300yards are possible as long as you are steady and consistant. Only took 3 rounds to get zeroed at 100 yards."

Pine Ridge Lever-Action Riflescope,October 7, 2009
By ranchhorsefrom Montana
"Optic quality of these scopes is below average for scopes in this price range.
This particular scope would not hold zero. Wasted a lot of time and expensive ammunition in an attempt to sight this scope in. Remounted my old scope that immediately returned to zero after two shots.
Will return this scope at the first opportunity.
Cannot recommend it."

Good scope- need to understand quirks,October 5, 2009
By Marlin336from Colorado
"Bought the 30-30 version. Optics are good quality. The scope has very good light gathering capabilities Accurate shooter.
Before purchasing this scope you must be aware of 2 things because of the long eye relief. 1. The scope requires a mount with the ability to set the front ring fairly far forward. If you like weaver rings, do not buy a weaver mount. Get the Leupold 1 piece rifleman. It allows setting the front rings farther forward. Depending on your cheek position, you might have to place the mount forward one screw hole and only use 3 screws to secure it.
2. Long eye relief means the scope is more susceptible to parallax issues. This has been a cause of some of the complaints because the end users were not aware of this. Keeping good eye alignment just takes some practice getting used to, but it also means good accuracy as a shooter because you are lined up correctly.
With the right mount/rings you'll be more than happy with this scope.
It would have rated 5 stars if the eye relief was about 1/2" to 5/8 of an inch shorter, allowing more adjusting of position with standard mounts. That would still have given a 5" eye relief"

71-2741 Lever Action Rifle Scope for 30-30,September 30, 2009
By pmd57from Wichita,Kansas
"Great scope, had no trouble sighting in. My range is only 100 yards. So will have to check out bullet drop feature later. But I don't see that as a problem. Longer eye relief was handy making set up nicer than some of my other scopes. I won't have any trouble hitting the mark at 100 yards this year."

Lever Action Scope,September 20, 2009
By HuntFreak
"You need to make sure that your lever action rifle is a side eject (post 1964) model or these scopes are near impossible to mount. Your only option is to hang the scope off the side and that just is not normal. Nice scope as far as optics for the money."

Lever Action Scope,September 10, 2009
By BDJfrom Sacramento, Ca
"Reasonably sharp optics for the price. Scope mounted as expected and zeroed at the range within a box of cartridges. Mounted on my Marlin 336, scope seems large on the rifle having replaced a 1.5x4 power scope. Adjustment caps should be made of aluminum versus plastic. Seems like a good scope for the money."

30/30 scope,August 26, 2009
By coolbreezeinMIfrom Michigan
"This scope was just want I wanted and needed. With Hornady's Leverevolution ammo and this scope, it saved me from buying a new gun. I shot out to 200yds with awesome accuracy. I would like to try a 300yd shot as it is advertised but I do not have a 300yd range. Great price, great scope, great shot placement."

Hard to find picture,August 23, 2009
By Kaoru1from Oregon,avid gun enthusiast
"I was very upset when I pulled the scope out of the box and looked thru it. The dark ring around the scope is larger than the viewing area. This makes for a much smaller field of view then expected from a 40mm objective.I have 32mm scopes that are much clearer , brighter, and less expensive. The cross hairs were hard to focus and seem to change when I change power on the scope. Overall just not happy with scope."

Cabela's .444Marlin Lever Action Scope,August 19, 2009
By Laite319from Devils Lake, ND
"After bore sighting and getting on target with 5 rounds of factory LeverEvolution ammo I shot 3 5 round groups at or just under 1 inch at 100yds. I have not shot this rifle/scope combo at 200+ at this time so I can't say how well the reticle works, but I am impressed with the groups out of my .444XLR. Was shooting early morning in cloudy/rainy weather and the scope was quite clear. One definate drawback is the 1/4 inch at 100yds is not even close. After shooting the first 5 shot group I went up 1 click and the next 5 shot group was about 1.25 inches higher than the first. I dropped back down 1 click and the next 5 were right in with the first five. Seems well worth the money for now!!!"

works great,August 10, 2009
By cumminsguyfrom gallatin ny
"i purchased the cabelas lever-action riflescope for my marlin guide gun that is chambered in .450 marlin. i know that they dont make one for this round but the ballistics for a 45-70 are similar to the .450 marlin with the .450 being a bit faster and flatter shooting. the results are great. i zeroed the gun for 100 yds with a 4 shot group just at an inch in diameter. at 200 yds with a couple of extra fine tuning clicks that group is out to approximately 2.25 inches and at 300 yds i can keep them on the inner ring of a paper plate. if you are looking for an improvement to your levergun here it is. deer season is almost here dont hesitate."
