Poor design,

"The seal works okay, but in my opinion it's a poor design. I don't know why they put the "tail" below the thick weatherstrip part - it makes it difficult to attach if your truck has a liner, and you need to glue the main part anyway - which doesn't have the adhesive backing. If you don't glue that part, it flops around. I ended up pulling up the whole mess, cutting off the tail and using weatherstrip adhesive to reattach the sealing part to my tailgate. Now that it has been modified and applied properly, at least it seals well."

"This product fits well in my NIssan Frontier 09 tailgate.Dont seal perfect but help a lot with dust and water to me that have a fiberglass cap to carry dogs and luggage. The glued tape get free in some points after few days of use so I put a Loctite Super Bonder Gel and the problem was resolved.I recommend to all that have a truck cap."

"I am pleased with this product. It sticks to smooth surfaces a lot better than to a Line-X finish. I had to use glue on some of the surfaces that contacted the rough Line-X surface. The foam is dense and retains it's original shape."

"This product seemed to be a great solution to keeping out all of the dust and snow in my pickup when the canopy is on, however it just doesn't work with the way the tailgate is designed on the dodge ram. At either end at the hinge there is an indentation that renders the seal useless at the corners. The adhesive tape is not that sticky also.
At least it's made in the USA. Two stars for that alone."

"Excellent Product,completely sealed the Tailgate on my Nissan
Navara. It is important to follow the fitting insructions exactly as written. I have had mine fitted only for about a month and
have been on plenty of dusty roads, no dust gets through my
Tailgate now."

"Very easy to use and does creat a very good seal. However, I still get dust in the back when traveling on gravel. It has cut it down by a good 80%. One thing I noticed is you need to make certain that your tailgate is closed tightly. With the seal in place it will stay shut but may not be latched, a bump will cause it to fly open."

"I got one from Cabelas 10 years ago for my old pickup and it was still in place when I traded in that pickup. The seals that I could have purchased locally had about half as wide a stick on tape as the old one so I ordered from you because the quality was much better."

"This tailgate seal wasn't made for my specefic pickup. I installed it exactly by the directions and found it was too thick. It pulled off of the surface on which it was stuck. It was a waste of my time and money."

"The seal was difficult to adhere to the narrow profile of my 2007 Toyota Tacoma short bed. The composite bed design and very narrow frame at the bottom of the tailgate do not accomodate the seal very well. I got it installed but then part of the seal separated and slipped down into the crack between the tailgate and the bed and no longer seals the gate. It may be possible to find a better way of adhereing the seal to the frame but it would take experimentation. I'm sure this product would work well on a regular steel gate/bed."

"The seal was easy to install and works great keeping out dust and water. Just make sure you clean the area where the seal will be placed very well. The two little pads for cleaning the amount of area necessary are inadequate but that's not a problem. They are nothing but cotton pads soaked in 70% isopropal alcohol (rubbing alcohol) which can be purchased at any grocery or drug store. Use plenty to clean and prep the surface but make sure the surface is dry before attaching the seal. My seal has been on for about 2 months and experienced both warm and cold temperatures without a problem. Total install time was approx 30-40 minutes."
