"We owned this product for 1 boat trip. The top is rated to 60 MPH. Our maximum speed was 28 MPH and the straps would not stay tight, the top kept coming loose. After only one trip out with the top, the aluminum poll snapped cause the straps let loose.
I believe in order for this top to be considered PREMIUM, a modification to the straps is needed so they stay right where you adjust them too."

"Great buy for the buck $; easy to install, perfect coverage for my boat. Adjust forward and backwards to achieve the perfect angle to block the sun’s rays. Boot cover fits great, not to tight; do not have to struggle to close zipper. Holds up good while motoring!"

"Went with the stainless upgrade, and very glad. It is very sturdy and serves its intended purpose well. Only a few minor issues. The instructions lack detail, therefore it takes a bit of thinking to get assembled. Also, the straps do not stay tight very well. However, it is very easy to just retighten them or they could be replaced for a few dollars with ones that hold better. Also, my boat width was the minimum for the size that I ordered and it is a VERY tight squeeze to get the top in the mounts. Overall, I am very happy, my one year old likes boating a lot better with the shade. I would definetely recommend the stainless upgrade. The fabric seems to be a high quality material that will hopefully hold up over time. The boot also has a nice heavy zipper which should hold up well."

"I installed this top on my smaller Walleye boat. I was hesitant that it might be too big. I love it. At 6' 4" tall, I can stand up easily, it keeps the sun off me and my grandkids while jigging.
It was easy to install, by myself. It took about 45 minutes. It is solid and appears to be quality stuff."

"The lake we fish on can get extremely hot. The first trip out, we used the top, it droped the temp. in the boat by about 15 degrees. When your talking 90 plus temps, thats a ton cooler. The only thing I would change is a bit more illustration in the instructions. I had to put it together twice."

"I ordered this top a couple weeks ago and installed it two days ago. First the good: The 7/8ths tubing and stainless fittings seem like above average quality. I simple don’t like the nylon fittings on some tops because over time they don’t hold up as well as SS. . Although I don’t prefer the adjustable style it seems to work fine. The Bad: The frame is roughly 1/3 wider at the bottom (mounting end) when it’s put together because the angle of the bend on the main frames ARE NOT tight enough. It’s a problem because when you try to mount the top on a boat say less than 82"-83" you have to bend the main support tube way too much to attach it to the boat. The fitting of the top may be fine on boats wider than say 83" or so but not less. (Assuming you get a top that fits the frame) I used every slot and it just isn’t the way it needs to be. The mounting location on my boat is 74.5" and you have to bend the tube back in so much it puts too much pressure on the mounting brackets. The mounting brackets need bigger screws as well even if the top fit correctly. The top itself seems of ok quality but the boot is a problem. The boot has one zipper that zips the entire length of the top. Seems ok to anyone that hasn’t used one before but the problem is the boot doesn’t have a snap or anything to keep the zipper from unzipping when you're going down the road. The boot should have either a snap to prevent the wind from blowing it open or have two zippers that zip toward the center so the wind isn’t an issue. The zipper actually needs to be larger. Somebody just wasn’t thinking when they designed the boot this way. I’ve messed around with boats for many years and this top simple falls short of its potential. A few changes and it could be a great top. Oh, yeah the gray needs to be darker because its almost off white. I’m returning the top this upcoming week."

"Just recently purchased the Cabela's Solarskin™ Adjustable 4-Bow Bimini Top – 54" , it has a good head clearance for my 6' frame and I like the quality of the material. Have not yet had it out on the water but I m sure it will perform well. It is well built and I really like the color. I would have given it a 5 star but for the installation instructions. They are poorly written and very difficult to follow, but my wife and I finally got it together and it does everything I want it to do."

"THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT BUT IT IS INTENDED FOR A BOAT THAT HAS A 70" WIDTH. I USED CABELA'S LIVE HELP AND WHAT I WAS TOLD IS THAT THE FABRIC WILL ONLY FIT AROUND THE CORNERS OF THE FRAME IF IT IS SET FOR 70". MY BOAT IS 80" WIDE AND THE FABRIC DOESN'T COVER THE CORNERS OF THE FRAME. IT LOOKS TOO SMALL AND OVERALL LOOKS POORLY. MATERIALS ARE EXCELLENT AND HAS PROVED TO BE STURDY UP TO 30 MPH. ALSO BE CERTAIN OF HOW IT WILL MOUNT TO YOUR BOAT AS THE INCLUDED HARDWARE IS MEANT FOR A TOP MOUNT WITHOUT ANY ANGLE. I PURCHASED MOUNTING HARDWARE FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY TO MAKE IT FIT AND LOOK GOOD. CABELA'S OFFERED TO REFUND THE TOP...BUT ONCE YOU PUT 12 HOLES IN YOUR BOAT IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE."

"I purchased this Bimni as a replacement, selected it because of the stainless hardware and extra qualities of the material. The top was grey and came with some rust looking stains which I didn't find until after our installation, the straps do not "bite" and loosen in the wind easily, and the center pockets of material sewn in the top to hold the top down flap excessively in the wind. Overall, I am unimpressed with everything but the mounting framework and brackets."

"This is a great top and we are enjoying the relief it provides from the sun. The SS hardware didn't fit on the gunwale like I hoped it would (because of the long windshield on my Chaparral), so I went to a local marine supply and bought the SS side mount fitting. It works great now! I bought the 54" height top and it catches too much wind to have up while under power... but that's not what I bought it for. I will definately recommend this top to friends and will buy from Cabelas again."
