Eureka Casper Sleeping Bag,November 1, 2009
By Surveyor1634from Larkspur, CO
"Good value. Definitely performs at the temperatures stated. My only complaint, although minor, is that the bag is a bit snug. It takes some getting used too, but it will keep you warm."

Excellent quality!,August 11, 2009
By JVerettofrom Heart of the Rockies, Colorado
"This is a great bag. I was a little leery, having not ever used one of these ultra-light bags before, but I am impressed.
Its a very light back, and with the use of the compression bag, it really packs up very small.
I got the 'long' version, thinking a little extra length couldn't hurt, but turns out I really don't need it. I'm 5'11, and the 'long' version leaves almost a full foot of extra length at the end - so the 'regular' size fit most people just fine.
I used this bag in the Rockies just a few weeks ago. It got down to around 25 degrees, and I stayed fairly warm. The only place that got cold was my feet, and I suspect that thats due to the extra length.
One of two small complaints is that the zipper is somewhat difficult to zip up when you're inside this bag - but I suppose thats a problem with all mummy bags. Its alot easier to have someone help you zip up.
Secondly, there is a small velcro strap that goes over the zipper to keep it from unzipping while you're sleeping. Great idea, but the placement isn't very good - if you roll over to your left size, it tends to scratch right on your neck, or your cheek.
Overall, its a wonderful bag though. Its my first compression bag, and can't imagine ever needing another one."

Great product,June 15, 2009
By ChasCAfrom San Ramon, CA
"Very light and very small so it is great for packing in. Better than almost everything else I have seen except $200+ products. I am not sure about durability, but have used it and it does everything a sleeping bag should do without the bulk!"

Great Bag,March 30, 2009
By Mitoi2000from Avid hunter and fisher out of Oregon.
"Never having slept in a compression bag it was a little tight the first night. I ordered this retangular bag with the idea that I would have more room. Not much! Just took a couple of nights to get used to it. Sleeps warm and the zipper is great. The only real problem was trying to keep it on the pad as it is quite slick. Light enough for the pack in and I am 73 years young."

Great for Lightweight Excursions,February 8, 2009
By cuffs68from Northern Colorado
"If you are looking for a bag that is very light in pack weight than this is the bag for you. I hike into the Rawah Wilderness in Colorado on mule deer hunts every year and try to keep my pack weight down to about 40 pounds. This bag worked extremely well, at a weight of 2lbs. 13 oz. It is rated at +15, but I spent some near zero nights in it, inside of my Big Agnes Seedhouse 1 tent and was very comfortable. For the price, you can't beat it. Down bags will cost four or five times as much and only weigh ounces less. I would recommend this bag to anyone who spends a lot of time backpacking in the outdoors."

Eureka Casper Sleeping Bag,December 23, 2008
By BillRfrom NY
"Another excellent Eureka product. Bag is light, packs small, yet is warm to 10F. I'm on the tall side (6'4") yet it fits me comfortably. This bag will go with me to the mountains of NM this summer, and the small size is a great asset when you are on horseback"

Nice Bag,November 18, 2008
By Saltforkfrom Ohio
"I have used this Casper (regular) in the S.W. Colorado mountains 2 seasons when elk hunting. I also have used it back here in Ohio. Never got cold - just need to use common sense and crash wearing long johns, socks, and a sleeping hat when the temp is low. This bag is very compact and comes with a good compression stuff sack.
I also purchased the Prolite 4 Thermarest pad which is great.
Hot tip - get the small cabelas pillow (not the big one as it will not fit). This small pillow fits in the external flap on the underside of the bag or you can just place it under your head. If you try to place a standard sized pillow under your head you will not be able to easily zip up the bag all the way."

No very warm,May 20, 2008
By ColdSleeper
"I got this bag with an eye toward an ultralight that would keep me warm at about 30 degrees, which isn't uncommon in W. VA hill country. Last fall a buddy and me spent a windy night in a moderate elevation, with a lot of wind and the temp went to freezing that night. The evaporative effect was that I froze- couldn't get warm at any time, and basically felt like I was exposed even with the bag fully up around my face. I was never so glad to see the morning. Since then I have had a much warmer experience with this bag using a vapor liner. All in all, its a good bag for 60-70 degree weather, but it did not perform at freezing, let alone 15 degrees."

I like this bag,January 20, 2008
By Mary58
"My only reason for not giving the Eureka Casper the full 5 stars is that I have not yet tested it in cold weather. I have been using my "old faithful" bag since the late 70's! (I get attached). But I needed a light, compact bag to travel w/ my daughter in Europe w/ as little luggage as possible. I used the bag many times in cold trains and hostels, but not backpacking, yet (it's January). The bag is compact and light. (O.K., I'm not so attached to my old one anymore) It stuffs well and the zipper did not snag up on me once. Best of all was the cut for me. I'm a woman, about 165 lbs. and 5'6". I HATE when my feet have no wiggle room in a mummy. I had enough room at the feet, w/o a lot a extra, wasted space in any area. Very comfortable. I'm very pleased w/ the bag."

"15+ Casper Bag- Bought this bag for a high altitude backpacking/fly fishing trip in the Wind River Range, Wyoming. We were up to 11,000 feet so I wanted to make sure and have enough bag to stay warm. This is a very high quality, light, compactable bag that is very warm. The stuff sack that comes with the bag is great! The only thing I will point out about this bag is that it is a little narrow up top. I'm not the biggest guy in the world...170 lbs and I would not want this bag to be any smaller....leg and foot room is great. Only warning I'll put out there is if you have broad shoulders or if you're over 200 lbs I'd say look elsewhere. For the money and everything else about the bag was great."
