river fishing,October 30, 2009
By HmongFishermanfrom Sacramento, CA.
"I bought the OS75 after many hours of research on the web and most of the reviews were very positive. So, thinking Fin Nor know's their reel better than anyone, I bought 500 yards of the power pro 100 lb test braid line to ensure I'll have enough for my reel, which was suppose to hold 460 yards. Boy was I disappointed. The reel could only hold, at the most, 200 yards. Nothing close to what Fin Nor claims the reel can hold. I am sure the other models have the same issue. Thats my two cents."

Fin Nor Offshore OS85,July 3, 2009
By FINORCONVERTAMENLETUSPRAYfrom Long Beach, Mississippi
"The Offshore 85 arrived a few days early, (just in time for the 4th of July fishing Rodeo) I opened the box and never having seen a reel of this caliber before , my first impression was, This is an incredible reel! I have been searching for a capable spinning reel that would surpass the usual bundle of spinning gear on the market at a reasonable cost. The Offshore 85 is a machined work of art. Prior to purchase, I spent many hours researching everwhere I coul find before I settled on this model. It is by far the smoothest reel Ive held. The gearing , the crank, the bail all spin beautifully. The drag mechanism and anti reverse have no noticealble backlash. It is built to feel like heavy artillery in the hands. The Fin Nor fit , finish, and operation is in my opinion World class. This one will be used to cast to Mahi Mahi in the gulf and haul in the occasional Redfish. A lot of money can be spent on other Spinning Gear, I hope Fin Nor can continue to provide the super quality like the reel I hold in my hand. Fin Nor... what an incredible piece of equipment. My new Big Gun. Thanks to Cabelas for carrying this reel. Did I mention I was a happy camper?"

"I read all the great reviews and purchased a new 75 model. The reel has qute a bit of back-play, like a 20$ spiing reel you would have purchased 10 years ago. I own a Penn 850 SSM, which has ZERO bakplay and has landed 60+ pound yellowfin tuna. I am dissapointed I did not buy another instead of this reel...."

Fishing marlin in Cabo,November 26, 2007
By Posaideonfrom Location: Cabo San Lucas exico.
"I live in Cabo and use this reel for casting live bait to stripe marlin and dorados. I’ve been successfully landing many marlins, up to 180 pounds or maybe more using 65 pound GSP line and the reel has performed excellent even with extended fights. Has stand many abuses and even big tuna and, until now, the reel seems to perform perfectly well, no complains and I fish it with confidence. Excellent drag, heavy but very reliable and resistant. Will used eyes closed any time with any fish."

Like a rock,November 12, 2007
By Snapperheadfrom Springville UT
"These reels are very well put together. Powerful drags and crank. A little on the heavy side, but to be expected for such a large line capacity, and full metal body. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is some backplay in the handle, giving it a sloppy feel. An afterthought when fighting 80 plus lb fish. However as a matter of personal preference I do not like any handle play. The rotor wobble is minimal for a large reel, and just holding it you know it will last a lifetime. Incredible drag system."

Fin-Nor Offshore Spinning Reel 65,September 23, 2007
By Simondfrom North Wales, Uk
"I bought this reel because of it's legendary reputation. You cannot buy a reel like this in the UK appart from one I can name but at the price that would be hard to justify! I haven't used this reel yet but I plan a couple of trips to the Caribbean every year and it will be perfect for jigging over the reefs etc. I'll also try using it for uptiding off my boat in the UK for winter Cod. For the money it looks great and can't wait to try it out. I'm sure I won't be disappointed."

Are u kidding,May 17, 2007
By SDotfrom Texas
"All I have to say is are u kidding me. These reels are monsters, built like a tank and perform like them. Think about all of the high end spinners out there, I mean high-end like 500-900.00. This is one of them. U just dont pay the premium, all of a sudden all the others appear to be over priced. I love it, it holds tons of line and have more drag pressure (real drag pressure not an inflated number) than any one person could ever hold on to. I do quite a bit of fishing I've used it for pier fishing, off shore, grouper jigging, this reel is that universal it's not as big as ppl say it is(OS95). I have caught a 250lb bull shark; monster YFTs, huge tarpon maybe 180-215lbs and it handle them without a blip. Dont let the price fool u. just think about it like this, Its a steal and I would not be surprised if they decided to raise the price because its easily worth triple its current price. Its just that good."
