Kayak carrier,
September 18, 2009
By debbie1234

"We already had a set of wheels for the kayaks but were looking for something with bigger wheels. This carrier was difficult to balance while trying to load the kayak. (We ordered the aluminum style.) We ended up returning them. If you have no wheels for your kayaks these may be useful to you."

Cabela's Canoe/Kayak Carrier,

"I recieved the item in good condition. It was very easy to assemble and is just as advertised. It even came with its own pump to pump up the tires. Wow! I want to store my canoe over winter on it, with the canoe bottom up. I strapped a couple of pieces of 2x4 wood to the carrier, inverted the canoe, strapped it down with the supplied straps, and I was able to easily roll and guide the canoe to the storage area next to my storage shed. I am looking forward to using it to get the canoe from parking areas to the water. I was impressed with this item. It is compact and lightweight."

Canoe carrier,

By Genelie

"Overall, it has met my expectations, I use this for my 12 foot flat bottom boat. For this application, a better kick stand would be in order, something that by simply pushing on the whole setup would release the kickstand, something like a bike."

Cabela's Canoe/Kazyak Carrier,
July 23, 2009
By Largemouth1
from Battle Creek Michigan

"This was just what I needed to get my canoe down the trail through the woods to some small walk in lakes that I love to fish. Well made, light and the canoe pulls along with ease when you strap the carrier on correctly. Only gripe I have is that there really were no directions on how to best get your canoe on the carrier and strap it on...(it folds out into a stand so you can set the canoe on it. Then strap it exactly in the middle of the canoe with the strap wrapped around the thwart so it won't slip back) Once I got that advice from another fisherman, it worked great."

Two man boat carrier,
July 6, 2009
By HuntersFriend
from Laurens, South Carolina
|
"My buddy and I float the river a lot in a two man fiber glass boat fishing for catfish. We have to use two vehicles when doing this, leaving one at the beginning and one on our exit point down stream. Most of the time we have to carry the boat or drag it to and away for our entrance and exit. I saw this little canoe/kayak carrier in Cabela's catalog and it rang a bell that this might be something that we may be able to use. It being light, small, and very easy to store it inside my locked truck while we float the river. I would not want to be without my best freind anymore. One person can handle the boat with very little effort."

Steel Canoe/Kayak,
June 30, 2009
By Mishy
from Canada
|
"I wish I had bought this thing sooner! I am a lone and getting older. It has been harder and harder to move the canoe around, but with this, it's a snap! There is a squared off "kickstand" that holds it in place while I set one end of the canoe onto the top. Then I just strap it down and away I go. The canoe is a big 16 foot Coleman, not really heavy just VERY awkward. This allows me to move it just about anyplace I want to go. I strap it down, load my gear and that's it. Nice bicycle tires too. I am not too sure about the wilderness, but I don't see why not. I will be trying it out there later this summer."

steel canoe carrier,
June 25, 2009
By aoscar
from Waynesboro, VA
|
"We bought the canoe carrier because I'm not as strong as my Fiance and am not able to carry the canoe like he can with all the stuff in it and keep up with 2 screaming kids that will not listen because they want to hurry up and get in the boat and fish. So we bought the carrier. It works great. The only problem that we have is that the cam buckle strap that came with it will not sinch down tight enough and it will cause the carrier to twist when we turn it. So all we did to solve that was use an end to our regular ratchet strap and problem was solved. The carrier works great for up hill, down hill, and across the parking lot. I would recommend anyone to invest in one. Especially if you carry a lot of gear. It is easier to throw it in the canoe and roll to your destination. It folds down and sits in the floor of the canoe greatly. It is great for float trips too."
