"This is the best made hatch I have seen yet. I used this to add a hatch but will replace all of my other hatches with this type as they need replacing. It is easy to install, very sturdy, and has an easy locking mechanism on it."

"A number of things disapointed me in this product. First, the template they have on the packaging carton is useless. Depending if you use the inside or outside of the fat dotted line printed on the box you either cut the hole too small or too large. Its also on cardboard so its a lot harder to cut out versus paper used on other types of templates. It's easier to just place the hatch where you want it, square it up, and go around the outside of the inner flange with a fine marker then cut on the inside of the marker line. Second problem is the hatches are NOT waterproof as advertised. At least they aren't in a horizontal application. I put four of them (two sizes) in the floor of the boat I recently rebuilt and all of them leak if it rains. Third, the hatch latches are kind of hard to operate and I can't see using them with anything but the thinnest of gloves. You might want to do a little more shopping around than I did."

"Very satisfied with product. High quality, strong well made. I will buy another smaller one later on. Note: be extra sure you check the template supplied on back of box. I found that is much, much better to measure twice and cut once. No screws included for mounting. I bought self tapping stainless at hardware store to install."
