"This paddle works fine for simple family outings and I would recommend them to folks who ONLY use them for light use.
I own two of these and both of them have the same problems:
1) They both have become extremely difficult, if not impossible, to take apart, even when they were perfectly straight.
2) They have both started to bend from just paddling hard.
I also have a couple of the Carlisle Day Tripper paddles, and although they do cost a bit more than these, they are far stronger and far easier to take apart, even after having sand on them.
My paddling consists of back-country lakes, creeks, marshes, & rivers, and often times our paddles are used to push us through bogs of muck or over beaver dams. These paddles just cannot handle this even though I have been careful with them.
If all you are doing is paddling in a small lake or down a slow river, they will be just fine. Otherwise, the Day Trippers are lighter, stronger, and far easier to take apart, and for not a whole lot more money."

"Bought this to use as a backup in my canoe. Breaks down in two for use as single paddles and is easily stowed. Used it from the center seat by myself and found it to be a little short, but for the money it's hard to beat."

My first Kayak paddle,

"This is my first paddle so my experience is limited, but it works well for me. It seems to be very well constructed. It is very comfortable with the cushioned grips and it keeps me fairly dry. Compared to the paddle I bought my brother this one was cheaper and has square paddles instead of the curved paddles that his have. They both performed well in deep water, but while navigating up a feeder stream on a local lake we noticed that in shallow water it was much easier with the square paddle. I could even dig into the bottom and push with the corner of the paddle where he could not. I think the square paddles do make more turbulance and noise when in the open water though. All said, this is a great paddle at a great price. I was ready to order another if I didn't like it, but this one is a keeper!"

"Having lost the stock paddle that came with my Pelican Kayak, I had to order a new one and received it very quickly.
The paddle is better than the original one and because of the curved blade, seems to give me more power for the same effort. The cushioned handgrip is a definite plus. The only thing I don't like is that the blade is held on the shaft with only one rivet, but that may never be a problem. The service I got from Cabela's was very good."

"Bought this for her and realized I should've bought one for myself too. Good for her and a smaller bar make it easier for small hands to grip. Sturdy enough and nice easy take apart feature.
She does just fine keeping up and says that her hands don't get too sore or torn up. Nice buy for a good price!"
