Falling apart,
September 4, 2009
By Aussieresident

"I havent had them more than 1 day and the heel was peeling back. The following working day I contacted Cabela's and told them about the problem. They didn't question my complaint. Since shipping from Australia is 40 dollars they have sent me a different pair of boots. Thank you Cabela's, you will aways get my business."

Great comfort.,
June 16, 2009
By PortageKeeper
from I live and play in northern Minnesota
|
"Pro's: Right out of the box comfort. Easy on/off. Light weight. Very breathable. Great Vibram sole (I look for Vibram soles on all my boots). A good looking shoe/boot.
Con's: They'll wet-out as easy as a sandel (just walking through wet grass). No shank (don't step on anything sharp). The mesh outer will absorb sand and other grit that will wear the upper faster. Very little ankle support.
Fine for day hikes in better terrain or for everyday, at-home use. Three and a half stars would be more accurate."

"The shoes were comfortable out of the box, and I have found nothing in the first month to indicate otherwise. I have worn them almost daily around my farm so they have gotten plenty of use. I believe they were a great selection."

Great everyday shoe but not a backpacking boot.,
April 26, 2009
By KyHiker
|
"I have enjoyed this pair of shoes but I finally wore them on a 3 day backpack trip. The inserts moved a lot. I got blisters on both feet and on the side of my heel from the liner. I also have the Merrel Reflex and they are worth the extra money. Go with the Reflex instead."

Merrell Moab Mid-Hikers,
February 3, 2009
By Anonymous

"These mid ht boots are nothing short of terrific!
I'm a hard to fit wide foot. These boots offer terrific support that one comes to expect from Merrell but they've outdone themselves in crafting a boot that is so easy on and off.
I'm going to look and see if there's a low cut version.
Best, rick"

"great and confortable shoe. I ordered a size 10.5 as that is what I normally wear but sent them back for a size 11 for a better fit. about a three day break in period. I bow hunt and this waterproof shoe has worked great so far. I have had them for about a month."

Hiking Boots that don't require break-in,
October 13, 2008
By Anonymous
from Ethiopia
|
"I live in Africa and am always looking for a good hot weather, light weight hiking boot (hard to find as so many of the hiking boots are made for the northern hemisphere and are insulated, etc). I bought a pair of Moab mid-height hikers during a trip to the USA in MAY, and have been pleased with them enough to order a second pair from Cabela's. I like that they provide good ankle support, yet are flexible, and don't require any break-in. Mine fit and felt good from the first time I put them on. One drawback, the soles seem suprisingly slippery for a hiking boot (when wet, I can hardly keep my feet on the brake or clutch pedal of my 4WD). Exactly how well they perform as a hot weather/desert type boot is yet to be confirmed, but I am expecting they'll be fine."

Moab Mid's not bad..!,

By MBaker

"So these Hikers are light on your feet... decent traction on gradual slopes.. confortable.. they breathe real well.. so good your socks will be saturated with dust... i used them for 2 weeks straight right out of the box... no break in required.. their not Danners or anything like that... so don't get them for side hilling... or steep rugged terrain... other then that.. they did what i wanted them to do... good shoes.... thanks Merrell"

"These are confortable boots. For someone that works on your feet 24/7, these are the boots to have. As long as you are not carrying a seriously heavy load (2 week pack or full ruck and combat gear) these are the boots to have. I didn't even have to change the insert like I do for most boots."

Merrell Moab Mid-Height Hikers,
March 8, 2008
By irtrin01
from Northern Alabama
|
"Very comfortable right out of the box. Used for 30 days and have logged over 50 miles of brisk walking on asphalt. No rub points or "hot spots". I have not used them on trails yet, but they seem like they will hold up very well while still providing a lot of comfort and being light weight. If you need a lot of support or arch support these are probably not for you, but for most this is an excellent value for trails or just good comfortable walking shoes."

Good Product, but...,
September 26, 2007
By HunterMontana
from Montana
|
"These boots fit perfectly from the get-go the only problem I had with them was perhaps a bit unusual. I was hunting in the Kalahari bushveldt of north-east Namibia where the soil is actually mostly loose sand like dry beach sand dunes. Though the boots were comfortable in the 90 degree heat their breathability proved to be a problem. They literally filled up with fine sand that leaked in through the fabric, especially around the toes. If you are hiking in hot dry weather on rocky or firm ground they would be excellent, sand however is another story."

Really Like These Boots,
September 4, 2007
By sbfraser
from Dayton, MN
|
"I really like these boots. They are light and the mesh breathes well. I don't need Gore-Tex, so I appreciate the lower price. They fit really well and let me walk/work in them all day. I have somewhat narrow feet and these fit much better than most of the other brands. I plan to buy another pair before they are discontinued."
