Sizes run small,September 9, 2009
By ECG123from California
"I had read several reviews of this shoe before purchasing it -- one said the sizes ran large, another said they ran small. I had previously purchased two pairs of a Merrell shoe in different colors of the same model and size that were slightly different sizes (one pair being one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had). It turns out that the sizes of Merrell Women's Moab Low-Profile Hikers run small -- at least the pair I bought! I would have been happier with a half size larger than my regular size of 8.5M. They weren't as comfortable as I had hoped they would be."

extremly comfortable,August 6, 2009
By leexrayshadyfrom minnesota
"Me and My wife rencently bought the merrel low hikers the mens for me and the wowmens for her. We bought them for our cruise to Alaska. I cant say enough about these hikers. They were extremly comfortable right out of the box. They were perfect both for walking around the curise ship as well as on our Nature Hikes. They did outstanding on the wet rocks we had to cross. While others in the tour we wearing normal tennis shoes they were slipping and sliding. The merrells traction was outstanding I would highly recomend these both for hiking and normal everyday activities."

Merrell Women's Moab Hiker,April 16, 2008
By Jacquifrom San Carlos, MX
"This boot was purchased for my housekeeper. She loves them. I purchased a Merrell for her because I have a pair already. She walks about two miles every morning to get to my home and says that the boots are very comfortable. She cares enough about her feet to put them in good boots."

look nice, fit not so nice,April 14, 2008
By jmscheshirefrom Nevada
"The shoes are of good quality, and they look nice. However, they aren't cushioned very well, and one shoe fits better than the other. My left foot feels perfect, but my right toes feel a bit crammed to the front. I usually do not have this problem with shoes."

Get a size larger...,September 18, 2007
By tcasbookfrom North Haledon, NJ
"As another reviewer wrote, these shoes run small. A full size small. Once I returned my usual size and got the size larger they were great. My husband and I just got back from Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks where we did lots of walking and hiking, not one blister nor sore feet!! I recommend them just get a size larger."

Comfortable from the get-go,August 7, 2007
By GoingCoastal
"I used a vacation to Utah as an excuse to buy these hikers, but I think I'll use them a lot around town. They got me through an entire day in various airports (I was cranky but my feet were happy) and performed well on our day hikes. They are well-cushioned and supportive. They ventilate well. The sole had plenty of flex, so I didn't feel like I had concrete blocks on my feet (which is how I usually feel in regular hiking boots). Also, the sole provided better grip than I had experienced with my old hiking boots. There were a couple of times on the trip when I felt like I might have needed more ankle support (descents with a lot of loose rock), but I was able to adjust thanks to the flex and grip of the sole. I did find that I needed to go up a size from my regular shoe size to have adequate room for my toes. As a result, I found that on sharp descents, my foot slid forward a bit because the heel was ever-so-slightly-loose. But it was manageable. Overall, I made it through a week of day hiking with no blisters, no hot spots and no urge to rip my boots off my feet the minute the hike was done. All that for less than $100."

Fabulous, Fashionable & Versatile,June 5, 2007
By Rglundy
"I have always opted for tennis shoes on mountain hikes because I can't stand the chaffing that I have previously endured from typical high top hiking boots, only to suffer more greatly from blisters and sore feet because tennis shoes just aren't cut out for rough terrain and lengthy hikes. I have recently discovered the Merrell brand and I won't go back to anything else for my outdoor needs. The Moab Low-Profile Hikers are amazing, absolutely comfortable and are so versatile. They have aided me in my morning jogs, a 20 mile hike down and up a canyon, and on daily jaunts to Whole Foods. I love the style of this shoe and I would recommend it to anyone who has suffered from sore feet or anyone who just isn't quite happy with their current shoe. I am extremely picky and I have finally found a shoe that I have no complaints about. Thanks Merrell!"

Shoes run large,May 18, 2007
By tielake2from St Joseph, MI
"I own lots of Merrell shoes, boots, and thong sandals. Always wear the same size, except this shoe. It has a very large toe box and runs 1/2 size large. It is also a little wider than a normal Merrell. It makes up for this by having a nice narrow heel and the Q form alignment system. This will be a comfortable shoe when I get the fit right."

Fabulous Footwear,April 4, 2007
By TeacherHikerfrom Pocatello, ID
"I'm a middle school humanities teacher, and I hike with my students frequently. On days when we hike, I wear these shoes in my classroom on cement floors and on the hike (clearly marked, dirt and rock trails). They are great in both settings. In fact, I experience much less back strain whenever I wear these shoes. They are appropriate for day hikes with a light pack as well as any activity that requires standing."
