Cabela's Advanced Anglers Pro Series Deluxe Backpack with Boxes

With all the storage capacity of a full-sized tackle bag plus the mobility and comfort of an ergonomically designed backpack, this versatile tackle storage system is ideal for the angler on the go. Even when loaded with all your essential tackle, the padded shoulder straps, sternum strap, contoured back and adjustable waistbelt redistribute the weight, making it comfortable to wear. It even includes a spacious, detachable cooler with exterior zippered access to keep drinks and snacks cold while you're on the water. A built-in rod-tube holder (rod tube not included) keeps your rod safely secured when hiking or relocating to another fishing spot. Zippered interior pockets make a handy place to stow a wallet, keys, fishing license or a small flashlight. The Buddy-Lok? Storm Proof pocket with a water-resistant zipper keeps small electronics and valuables safe and dry. Additional Buddy-Lok attachments on the strap secure your cell phone, GPS or camera where you can access it in a hurry. Main pack has space for four included 3700 utility boxes and is equipped with two water bottle pockets, three holders for pliers or a pocket knife and four D-rings on the outside. Shell is constructed of rugged 600-denier nylon. Measures: 25"H x 17-1/2"W x 11-1/2"D. Weight: 6-1/4 lbs.

"I fish on a lake where the level can drop more than 100 feet in the summer, leaving me with a steep walk to the shoreline. I also have mobility problems that complicate getting to the bank or dock. This backpack allows me to carry all the gear I need as well as lunch and a few cold drinks, keeping my hands free to use a hiking staff for stability. I wouldn't have the freedom to fish on my own without this pack!

Besides being handy, it's tough - I can't imagine anything I'd take fishing that would strain either the materials or the construction of this pack. I'm really glad I found this item, and I'd recommend it to anyone!"

Great Bag - Improvements Possible, October 12, 2009

"Fantastic bag. All of the other reviews online were spot on. There is a TON of room for EVERYTHING you could need. The only issue is that it's almost impossible (at the very least frustrating) to get all of the boxes in. I ended up using a box I already had as the fourth, and it was a bit smaller, so everything fit perfectly. It's just really tough to fit all of the OEM boxes in.

Otherwise, my first impression was that the backpack overall was a bit big. After using it a half dozen times now, I'm totally fine with the size, because there's literally nothing I can't take with me. I've been shore fishing as well as out on a local lake that rents john boats, and this thing is great.

Best things about it are the TWO dry pockets, the multitude of places to put all kinds of stuff, the amount of gear I can pack, and... The COOLER!!!

It would get 5 Stars if they improved the box/zipper size issue."

"Great pack for hauling gear ...zipper connecting the lunch box to the bottom of the pack is weak. Mine broke day one . very disappointed. The pack and boxes are awesome though. I will use it for quite a while, just without attaching the lunch box. ( I am not sending it back to be replaced). Still a loyal Cabelas customer."

"At first I thought the overall bag was too large for daily fishing trips and more for backpacking or consecutive day trips. Upon further investigation the lower section or base compartment is separated by a zipper which makes it break down into 2 component bags making it transport as a large bag efficiently and very manageable during fishing by separating the two. In my opinion very well thought out and manageable. I am very pleased with the purchase."

"This Backpack is great but it is very large so you can fit a number of items in this pack. Then it has a good size cooler so i always cut a footlong sandwich in 2 and throw in water bottles and pop its a large cooler. All in all I am very pleased with this product. Thank You Cabelas cause you are the only supplier of this Deluxe BackPack!!!!"

Broke Shoulder Straps with 25 pound load, May 3, 2009

"I use this for shore fishing here in Florida and have to say the design is really thought out and thorough. There is plenty of room for everything one will need for a full days fishing. The cooler stays chilled and the lure boxes fit snugly into their slot.

However, after only my third trip my left shoulder strap began to tear and is now almost completely detached. I weighed myself with the bag and then without and concluded I had about a 25 pound load. I feel this is completely unacceptable from Cabelas. Its apparent that this is probably only a QA fluke but still for such a great item to be ruined for shoddy craftsmanship is pretty sorry. I'll be keeping this bag just so I don't have the hassle of sending it back and being without a bag but I will try and repair it myself. Overall: Great Design and extremely useful however, very bad factory work."

"This pack is amazing--I'm a big guy and can haul a load, and this pack is everything I want to carry--when it's full, it has everything I could ever need fishing for salmon, steelhead and trout in Alaska. It has a huge cooler for food and drinks and bait, plenty of pockets for tools, phone, handgun, etc and is comfortable to to wear and hike with.
The reason it didn't get 5 stars is the top container was broken when it arrived--the plastic box is just too big for the pocket and breaks it when it's stuffed in and shipped.
I can't wait to get it out on the rivers this summer and have all my gear in one place--a great product--try a smaller box for the top storage area."

"i bought this back pack. it works great for ice fishing.as far as the boxes fitting in they fit fine nice and tight and were very easy to put in the middle pouch. i only have had one box come in broken but it was replaced by cabelas other then that it is great to have when fishing. when used the right way this is a great product"

"I thought this design would be great for my type of fishing until my first trip. The zippers holding the cooler section onto the bag ripped apart. I had to actually cut the cooler section off and get rid of it. Talk about ruining a fishing trip and a waste of money. Most Cabelas products I have purchased are of good quality. Not this one !! Keep away from it."

"Holds all my takle plus food or drinks. I didn't have any trouble with the boxes as stated in other reviews it took little effort to slid them out or place them back in. After all this is a Soft tackle box- back pak, with room for everything!"

"I purchased this backpack because I got tired of trying to carry the large tackle box and the small cooler. This is one of the bese investments I have ever made for my fishing hobby. First of all the boxed a large enough to accommodate a variety of lures, hooks and various tackle. Second the cooler on the bottom is detachable and insulated and large enough for a lunch including the beverages. Even though it is a little large with the comfortable padding and waist strap and upper strap to keep the weight evenly distributed it is comfortable to wear. Since I sometimes fish at the parks and it is difficult to find an even spot to sit a tackle box and the cooler to keep it from sliding backwards with this I can just keep it on my back or sit it down since it sits perfectly upright. It is very well constructed and has enough pockets for all my needs. I would recommend this backpack to anyone. Great work Cabelas !!!"

"The 4 boxes that come with it just barely fit in the thing, so snuggly that you feel like you are going rip the bag putting it in. If you put the top one in upside down it fits better but its still not really useable like that. So you will need to go buy a smaller box and pitch out one of the big ones.

You will also need to buy 1 or 2 spinnerbait boxes if you likea the spinner baits, because this box has no provisions for that.

Be warned, it weighs a ton empty- by the time you get your tackle and your beer, I mean soda, in it you are staring down a pretty good workout.

Also if you take more than one or 2 of the boxes out the top compartment tends to collapse down, which if you are in my boat with the spinnerbaits means that your spinner box might end up spilling and that isnt any good for anyone's day.

Other than that its pretty slick, I know it sounds like a negative review but all in all its a pretty good box."

"This is a great back pack for a gal like me who is short and heavy set. I am able to be mobile and versatile with the gear on my back comfortably. The straps easily extends to my body shape with room to spare. The cooler is recommended with an ice pack and keeps the food and drinks cold. I can fit almost anything in this back pack. Great product."
