"I read all the reviews on the this product and decided to pick it up while it was on sale. the product itself is awesome. well made, holds everything I could ever use on the bank and then some, but its almost too big.
the buddy lock system is a little loose, but that was solved with a layer of duct tape (just fits a little tighter)
I could not fit 4 plastic trays in the main compartment. only 3
the cooler will hold an 18 pack of cans and food.
sadly I have only used this 3 times and went back to my normal sized backpack.
if I needed an extra change of clothes and food for a few people this pack would fit the bill, but by myself on the bank or in my pontoon boat its a lil over kill"

"Used the backpack on a 3 day fishing trip in the Colorado Mountains. Typically, we hike to the high mountain lakes. The backpack worked out great for me. Held all my rain gear and extra clothes along with all my fishing tackle. The cooler is a bonus when you are out all day. Took off the cooler and hiked 7 miles to a lake. Got snowed and rained on and the backpack didn't get wet inside. It is larger than I thought was going to be. Which in my case is a good thing. I was completely self contained for a whole day out in the high mountain lakes. My friends were jealous. They all appreciated the many compartments to store stuff instead of an backpack where you have to dig around in to get to the stuff you need. If you backpack and fish, you won't be disappointed with this product."

"bag has tons of room for everything you may need to fish. the cooler is awesome for detaching and carrying out with you into the water without having to bring your whole bag. it is a little bulky and can get very heavy if you put too much stuff in it. great bag though, got compliments from all my fishing buddies and they all want one now."

"Even after reading reviews I was surprised at the size, it will haul gear, and food for several people. It is getting it's first test today, but my first impressions are: Fairly thoughtful layout, several storage pockets, works well with 3 -3700 series boxes, would not try to cram in a 4th one, the Buddy Lock connectors are not in the least secure, they are very loose and the buddy lock pouch swings freely, I can see how it could fall off very easily. nice that the cooler detaches and can be used seperate as a fanny pack ( pretty large one ) seems comfortable even with a decent load of gear. Overall it is a winner, and I recommend it so long as you are OK with the couple little drawbacks that I and others have mentioned."

"My friend and I bicycle 4-5 miles to fish a trophy trout stream and this backpack was the perfect fit for everything that we needed. We actually were able to condense 3-4 bags of our gear into this one bag and still had room for plenty more. The belt buckle could be a little more durable, other than that I would suggest this pack to any serious fishermen."

"I read the reviews before I bought this backpack. I found the comments to all be true. It was bigger than I imagined, that is good because I use the extra room. It would only hold three of the model 3700s, but thats ok I only need two. It is comfortable to wear, even with my bad back. The down side for me, the whole pack could use some stiffeners. The cooler does not hold ice very long. Overall I am well pleased with my purchase."

"I bought this bag on sale and was pretty excited to get it. On the very first trip i took, the bag straps ripped out. I only had about 20 pounds in the bag. I managed to tie the straps to the bag. By the end of the trip (1 day) the straps were ripped and frayed, the zippers were broke and the material was ripped. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY MONEY AND TIME!"

"I just recently got this got which is great I love the size plus all the different compartments, inside and out. For me its very durable and comfortable to wear I am very please with this bag. I just took this on a four day fishing trip and all my fishing friends admire it. Two of them just ordered it, it is a little heavy when full, but it doesn't bother me, but for one with a bad back it may be a problem. Other than that its great."

"Just what I was looking for. I travel a lot, and this allows me to carry all my gear, and then some. It is a great carry on pack, and I feel secure knowing that my fishing equipment is with me, and not going to get lost in some unknown destination. It is much larger in reality then what I envisioned it to be. It's comfortable to wear, well made, and has lot's of neat storage features. The price was much less than competitive products that i was considering, and had more space. I hike along the beach to surf fish, and this backpack allows me to take extra clothing, camera, food, and plenty of lures, and tackle. Great Value at a great price. Highly recommend this Backpack."

"I use the backpack for taking gear fishing on the beach. I'll probably use it when I go boat fishing as I often fish on several different boats. When I took it on a winter trip to NC, I had 3 full size boxes in the bottom of the bag and 3 smaller versions in the top half. Although it's pretty heavy when loaded up this way, it does allow me to have all the gear I'll ever use on the beach right at hand. So far, it has held up to my abuse well. We'll see how it fairs in the spring/summer season when I use it more regularly."

"This is the most intelligently designed pack I have ever seen. You will not believe the number of pockets, some insulated and some waterproof that this pack contains. It is perfect for fishing but I'd get one for day hikes and for any activity you'd do with the kids (in case the fishing pack gets skunked up). The only downside is the lack of pack support so it tends to slouch. A hard bottom and an internal support and it'd be the best pack I've ever owned, period."

"I was looking for a heavy duty fishing bag that I could use to comfortably haul a ton of tackle and gear to the out of the way shore fishing spots that we camp at. If you want to catch fish from shore on Oahu you need to get the heck away from everyone else, and this bag gives me the ability to haul all my gear hands free so that I can carry whatever poles, camping gear, coolers, etc that need to get to the camp.
The bag has great capacity--but as mentioned in other reviews, should not be purchased if your intent is to have 4 plastic lure boxes--it fits 3 boxes easily but not 4.
Plenty of space for extra line, bells, setups etc. Cooler holds a lot more bait than it looks like it would
Complaints: The cooler leaks through the zipper if not held upright Zippers--one was not closed up and did not have a pull cord attached. After a few uses, two of the other zipper pull cords broke off.
All in all its great, just a few details...

"Pretty sweet bag. I bought 3 utility boxes instead of the recommended 4. I don't know that 4 would actually fit in there without a struggle. The bag has plenty of room for a hiking trip, day fishing trip or even a carry on for a flight (if you remove the cooler). Pack fits nicely with the padded back. I bought the eagle eye rod case as well as the bag has some nice loops that you attache more gear to. Overall a good solid bag. Might be a bit bulky for some, but for me it is a good."
