Not like the sled I had as a kid,February 17, 2009
By flexablefrom Aquebogue,NY
"The rivets broke on the first day we used it. What a let down for my daughter. The rivets holding the rails failed and we had to stop using it. Also the steering handle is short and using it with gloves on is hard to do. Do youself a favor and look for the old fashion flexable at ayard sale, unless you are prepared to fix current model."

Flexible Flyer after 50 Years,January 28, 2008
By Timberwolffrom Holt County, Missouri
"50 years ago I played with a shorter version of this sled. Today, my grand-daughter enjoys playing with this one.
The sled is lightweight and easy to transport. The only thing needed is the addition of a short piece of rope to pull it with.
It is still easier to steer by lying on your stomach, and dragging the toe of your shoe, on the side you wish to turn to. Sitting and turning the handle with your feet also works, but requires practice due to sitting with your feet outside the frame of the sled. It also doesn't give the same thrill, or create the same speed, as lying down.
Con: The kids don't want to come back in the house to warm up until they are to tired to walk back up the hill."

"Just like the old American Flyer rail style sleds. The fastest thing on packed snow with the ability to turn right or left."

"This Sled Rocks",December 27, 2007
By Raffpapfrom Medical Lake, Wa
"OK, OK....I was somewhat shocked upon opening the first of two of these sleds and learning they are no longer made in the USA. But, after a great afternoon of sledding, I learned to live with it! My boys, ages 10 and 12, have the fastest and most maneuverable sleds in town, just as I did 30 years ago with my Flexible Flyer. They were a real hit, with several kids and a couple adults asking to take them for a run. The quality still seems to be top notch, too, something I tested by sledding long, fast and hard. They are as tough as I remember. Not intended for deep powder, these sleds are in their element on packed snow and ice. My boys said it best...."this sled rocks!" I highly recommend this sled. Get one, you won't be disappointed!"
