Change rough stones into beautiful, high-luster, semiprecious gemstones that look great in jewelry and key chains.
More than just a rock polisher, the Tumbler takes kids through the whole process by including stones, grit, polish,

Smithsonian Rock Tumbler,February 23, 2008
By LFWWfrom New York
"The Smithsonian Rock tumbler was a Christmas present for a child, it only lasted 4 days before the rubber wheel that turns the tumbler disintergated, rendering the tumbler useless, the replacement had to be back orderd and took 4 weeks, the replacement isn't much better, although the wheel has lasted longer, it looks like it will soon fail too! the cycle to polish the rocks takes several weeks and I don't beleive this new one will make it! I don't recommend this product, it is cheaply constructed and will surely disappoint the user!!!"

glad I didn't buy a more expensive rock tumbler,January 15, 2008

"My son asked for a rock tumbler for Christmas. Little did I know, the tumbling process takes about a month. I thought I wouldn't notice the rattling noise in my basement after a few days, I was wrong. Fortunately, the attention span of an 8 year old gives me the hope that I will not have to listen to a second batch of stones being tumbled. But at the moment he loves it, so I'll give it 3 stars."
