Tri-Tronics G3 Sport Basic Training Collar,

"This is the first e-collar I have ever used. Frankly I was not very supportive of this type of training tool. I did alot of research into all types and makes of collars and the correct way to use them for training. I spoke with several professional trainers. Everyone in my area holds this make as the standard benchmark in a training tool.
I watched the video that came with the product and found it very informative. I followed the directions and along with using common sense. I found positive results within one training session. The controller is easy to use. The buttons are clearly marked. The unit is comfortable in your hand or hanging around your neck by the lanyard.
The range of 1/2 mile is way more distance than I will ever need but it is great to know I have control out that far. The collar is easy to put on. I use the small probes for my dog and they work quite well.
I have got the collar soaking wet and snowy and the sending unit has been dropped in the mud and snow already. Both continue to work without flaw.
This collar as a training tool is by far the best training method I have ever used. My dog is a Labrador and is generally easy to discipline so I do not have to go any higher than the number 2 and he obeys exactly the way I expect him to.
I have only been using this product for a few months but I would highly recommend it to any one training a dog. I have over 20 years at training waterfowl dogs and would not train another one without this tool."

"I bought this trainer to help assist in training my 1 yr old Alaskan Malamute that had selective hearing. I bought cheaper/short distance trainers and had to take them back because they never came close to the distance that it claimed. I haven't had a problem with the trainer at all and I now have a well behaved Malamute that doesn't jump or scratch at people and comes when called..even while chasing squirrels, rabbits, etc. I would have given this 5 stars, but it was a pricey item to purchase."

"The Tri-Tronics G3 Sport Basic Training Collar was the absolute, perfect solution to keeping tabs on JoJo, my new Brittany pup. My yard is too large to install an invisible fence. Several times during the first couple of months, I was sure I had lost him. He would follow that nose of his and, being too young to know what "Come" meant, I had to frantically search for him. But no more! The features of the collar allow you to give an audible tone as well as jolt if needed. JoJo only needed a single jolt for him to associate what was coming after the tone if he didn't "Come". The features, the instructional DVD and customer support make this money well spent. Plus it also has the added benefit of my being able to take him to the parks to actually run instead of being on a lease. The only regret I have is that I didn't order it from Cabela's sooner!!"

"I have used the training collar on our young retriever. She is very timid and the different level of stimulation works great for her. Also, I love how easy the controler is to use. I would definately recommend this product to anyone needing to train a dog."

"Tri-Tonics training collar was recommeded by a hunting dog trainer. It has worked great for me. My dog was partially trained. When the collar goes on she knows work has started. I have you used it in water retrieving with no problems. So far I use the buzzer most of the time and that is enough to get her attention"

"This collar worked great right out of the box and is easy to use. The transmitter is small enough to carry easily and range has proven to be excellent. My Dog has responded very well to the stimulus and the training is ongoing. I would have liked a little more info on their DVD that was supplied with the collar. Also a quick release type collar might be nice if it would be durable enough to keep the unit from breaking loose and getting lost. Those are very minor points. I am truly happy with this product!"

"I have used this product for less than one year under easy conditions and it has already failed. To make matters worse their product support takes too long to address an issue and their customer service personnel show no interest in helping.
If you buy any Tri-Tronics product hope it does't fail. If you have a failure and need help try holding your nose because their customer service stinks."

"Dependable, holds a charge for a long time, Love the buzz option for a warning to your dog. Range is great. Antenna is not in collar which is great so you can cut the collar to length.
Easy to use, many settings. Try it on yourself before shocking your dog. The monetary button is a nice option--gives your dog one quick shock.
I am very happy with this purchase. My dog is responding and adjusting very well. She is three and I can let her off the leash anywhere with the collar on or off."

"I've been using this collar with our 6-month old Vizsla pup and have been very happy with the performance and results. The unit is easy to operate, easy to charge and has enough range for the small acreage we run our dog on. I was glad to find some additional training tips on the Tri-tronics website. "Perfect for our beagle/hound mix. It only took a couple of days and she learned the boundaries of our yard and to come back when called. I love that it has a beep mode so that I can give her an audible warning even if she is not within calling distance. I also love that the collar unit is waterproof and that I have the flexibility of using the system wherever I take my dog. She knows that the basic rule is to stay close no matter where we are. No more bolting and playing "can't catch me" games."

"I bought this collar June 5th 09 and have been using it every day since. I was a first time buyer of an electronic collar and wasn't sure what to go with. I got on Cabelas website and it seemed like every collar review I looked at a few people would negatively review the product. I found this collar and decided the reviews were great so I made the purchase and bought an extra receiver since I would be running two dogs. It has worked GREAT. Easy to use and has had great range. The dogs are learning and responding well, you just gotta be careful how you use them."

"The G3 sport is easy to use. having 10 levels of stimulation and easily addjusted make hard headed dogs a snap to get back in control. After 2 weeks our dog takes minimal stimulation to follow commands."
