Backcountry Bowhunting,October 27, 2009
By TBrowning
"In my opinion this book is the first thing you should buy as you prepare for a DIY (do it yourself) wilderness hunt. Even if you're truck camping for your elk/mulies you need this book. This book truly prepared me for my first wilderness hunt this September. I read the book again when I got back to Georgia and it really "clicked" with me. It'll make you a better hunter...period! If I ever lose my copy I'm calling Cabela's first thing to re-order."

Backcountry Bowhunting,August 22, 2008
By rezavoirdogfrom Lame Deer, MT
"I just finished reading this book, a shade under a week. Great information, and motivation to learn how to bowhunt the way it was meant to. In the Backcountry. Detailed information, tips tactics and advice on how to get in shape, get motivated, stay motivated and reflect on the challenges that seem insurmountable in the Wilderness. I think to be a true Trophy and Big Game Bowhunter, you must out-do, out work and out think those weekend warriors that drive the backroads blowing game calls every couple miles! We as an American Society have become to dependent on technology and the "easy come, easy go" mentality that has made our countrymen look lazy to the rest of the world. This book was written with the blood, sweat, and tears of a truly remarkable human being, and even more remarkable archer. Read this book and remember that fair chase and no fences, 100% do-it-yourself bowhunting is the ONLY way to harvest a buck, bull or boar, regardless of the animals score!"

Great Book,May 27, 2008
By shallhunterfrom California
"Excellent book for stimulating a hunter to get "off the road" and into the back country. The book seems to cover all the needed information. I also enjoyed reading some of the mistakes he learned the hard way; these examples helped me remember his point very well. Great book!"

Great Info For the D.I.Y.er,November 22, 2007
By Huntermanjefffrom Prescott, AZ
"I got the book last night, read it all today instead of watching football (Thanksgiving). I thought that Cameron put a lot of thought into this book. I am planning on a backcountry Mule Deer/ Javelina hunt in central Arizona during the January Hunts. I have already started planning everything out in my head thanks to this book. It covers everything! Food, Gear, Map Reading, Tactics, Fitness, Mental Preparation, and more! The great thing about this book is that you can take the information and be as laid back or hardcore as it applies to you. I can't wait for my hunt!"

Excellent Book,February 16, 2007
By Ludesfrom Milwaukee, WI
"I just finished the book and I must say, for the die-hard backcountry hunter, it is a "must read". I decided to buy the book because I am headed west in Spet. on my first Elk hunt. Our hunt will be guided, so my main goal in reading the book was to get Cameron's insight on the right types of gear, hunting methods, locations, etc.
I don't have immediate plans to Bivouac 13 miles into the wilderness like Cameron does on his solo trips, so a lot of the information didn't apply to me at this point. I will say that the spirit of the book is fantastic, you can tell that the author is excited about the topics he covers and he is very detailed. An entertaining, all-encompasing guide for the backcountry hunter. I would definitely recommend the book if you have plans to hunt the "blue collar" way Cameron chooses to hunt."
