Haven't hunted, but ripped already,November 18, 2009
By nanb69969from plattsmouth, NE
"Decoys look simply outstanding and at first appearance seem to be rugged and sturdy. However, the first time I pulled them out of the bag to put a few deks out in the yard, one had partially ripped along the seem. I hope they hold up and from now on I'll be careful about how snugly packed they are in the bag."
Overall Great,November 16, 2009

"Very good. Tough as long as you put some liquid nails on the ones that are cracked. After that your good to go. The heads make everything look very realistic. Easy to pack."
Hot Buy Goose Decoys,November 3, 2009
By Tengaugefrom South Dakota
"Decoys work well, after reworking the area where the heads attach with a dremel tool to get them to fit together, especially in the cold weather. Four of the decoys were split open in the front, this is my third dozen of these decoys, and all have had three to four split open .All have needed work where the heads join the shell as well. If you dont mind spending the time to rework them , they will decoy the geese in. The motion stakes work well."
Goose heads are hard to connect,October 7, 2009
By AndyFFFFFFFFFFfrom Minnesota
"The Goose heads are hard to connect. They barely fit into the slot and I had to make the slot bigger with a knife to make it fit and the slot breaks easily."
Hot Buy GHG Goose Decoys,August 13, 2009
By quincyboy
"Must say I was very dissapointed with the quality of these decoys. Yes, they look very good for the money; however, they are not durable at all. The front seam splits very easily when stacking and will most likely not last you the full season. In fact, when you buy them new out of the box, there is a very good chance some will already be split - I experienced this twice (Cabelas was great as usual with exchanging for new shells). If they do split, take a zip tie, drill some holes, and pull the seam back together. I wrote to GHG and asked for a response to this issue and still have not had any reply......guess they don't want me to buy any more of their products......"
Just so so,December 23, 2008
By BKinMNfrom St Paul, MN
"Decoys look great. Nice size and flocked heads are good too. The problem is that 3 of the 12 decoys came split up the molded seam on the breast of the decoys and require some repair right out of the box. If I buy these again I will expect to keep some industrial glue handy for repairs. Otherwise great looking decoys and Cabellas service was second to none."
2nd Time,December 4, 2008
By Ducky28022from Avid Waterfowl Hunter
"Just received 1 dozen Canada Goose hot buy shells 7 decoy's where split up the breast seam, this is the second time I have receive Hot buy shells with this proplem. I also hunt over there oversize duck decoys and all of there seams where the keels stops at the decoy have split and it's only the second season. Not impressed with quality they look good but do not last. Cabela's was great they will exchange goose decoys at no charge have talk to greenhead gear before on this issue and they took no responsilbility."

GHG Decoys are great buy,November 22, 2008
By PaGreyGostHunterfrom Easton, PA
"I just started hunting Geese in Eastern PA and picked these up at Cabelas. You can't beat the price and they look great, Hope to get a lot of birds with these. I have no problem getting the heads on or off, and the bodies are nice and light so we can cary alot of decoys out into the field."
Quality Shells,September 23, 2008
By Zgooseslayerfrom Lake Park, Minnesota
"The Hot Buy goose shells are a excellent investment. They have great colors and blend in perfectly with my full body dec's. Everything with these decoys have been going smoothly except if you stack more than 6 shells on top of one-another the front vertical seam of the top shell will start to split. Other than that, I would recommend ordering another 6 motion stakes to get the other half of the dozen off the ground. Though these decoys work great they are kinda small and in stubble fields that havent been worked they are tough to see if not on a stake."
"I bought 2 dozen of these shell decoys. They work great for me. Why spend the big bucks on full body decoys when shells work just fine for half the price. As for the problem with heads everybody seems to have. Why remove them, I just leave them on. Throw a sock over them and stick them in a full body bag, 2 per slot."
"These decoys look great and should bring the geese in ( I haven't used them in the field yet). The flocked heads look good and the paint looks like it will hold up. But the plastic is very thin and flimsy. When I took them out of the box, stacked them, and put them in the bag I saw that one of them had cracked in the front. It was not a big problem and the decoy will still work fine. I also bought a pack of motion stakes so all 12 of the decoys would have 1. I just had to drill a hole in the 6 decoys without stakes and they were ready to go."
Very life-like, but high maintance,March 18, 2008
By jpbnyfrom Western New York
"The heads and shells were both beautiful. That said the fit between head and shell was very tight and required considerable grinding down the fit easily."
Great Decoys for the money.,January 29, 2008
By jwgoosehunterfrom Hockessin Delaware
"These decoys are really worth their money. They are a great addition to your spread. They have realistic paint schemes and are very durable. The only down fall on these decoys are getting the heads on a off. They are tough to get on at first but after taking them on and off a couple times they will go on real easy. if you are looking for some great looking decoys these are well worth the money!"
Sadly Disappointed,December 20, 2007
By ESM1from Northern IL
"These were a great deal, and look fantastic! But their quality is very disappointing! The heads do not fit together enough to get together, or take apart. We had to bring them in the house, by the fireplace and once they warmed up, they became easier to put together and take apart. We called the manufacturer to voice our concern, the customer service rep said, yeah sometimes they need to be warmed up. Hunting in the midwest, we don't have that luxury of hunting in the warm temperatures often. For practicality in the field, we would not recommend these. Thanks to Cabelas for offering us a return."
Good Value,October 2, 2007
By SouthernVTwaterfowlerfrom Brattleboro, Vermont
"The "Hot-buy" Canada shells are just that. A good buy for the money. They have a good paint scheme, realistic look and the bodies are good and durable. The only thing I would change about this product is the head attachment, but from what I've seen several decoy manufacturer's haven't figured that out. C'mon guys! Make something that is truly user-friendly AND durable!"
