"This jacket is one of the few that actually does what it claims. It stops the wind as well as keeping the shoulders dry from rain. I have worn it in thirty and forty degree temperatures and have yet to have to wear any kind of liner. An excellent product."

"Talk about stopping the wind. This jacket is "top of the line" when it comes to blocking out the bitter cold winds while backpacking and fishing. I've had other (so called) windproof jackets, but none compare."

"I was looking for a jacket that I could ware indoors without the bulkyness, yet keep me warm for up to a hour that I may be outdoors. Wow, was I impressed.
15 degrees outside with a 17 mph wind & I was still warm a half hour later. Thanks Cabela's."

"I wanted something I could wear on cold and windy days a little nicer than my zip-up hoodie and bought this. More affordable than many jackets like it but excellent quality and warmth. Blocks wind and cold nicely. Material feels nice and comfortable. Lightweight enough to not sacrifice movement for warmth."

"I have always wanted a Wind Shear jacket to complete my cold weather Steelhead attire but found them to be a bit on the expensive side. Then when Isaw that it went on sale I was able to finally get my Wind Shear garment at a more modest price.
It works as promised. Sealing in my own body warmth while allowing my own body vapors to escape.
It is also a fairly attractive jacket that I can, and do, wear about town.
This jacket along with a good base layer and fleece pullover ought to do the trick on those frosty November mornings!"

Cuts the Wind!,

"Just got in from testing the WindShear Fleece Jacket today. Currently it's 16 degrees with a 14-20 mph wind and wind chill of 2. This jacket does cut out the wind. Light in weight. Comfortable running in and out of stores with normal clothing under the jacket. Looks good and fits nice. Don't understand peoples problem with the drawcord...it works as it should. Could be improved with better designed, sturdier, and zippered inside pockets. The 2 inside pockets are large enough for gloves and a fleece watch cap. Jacket is cut large enough to add a fleece pullover under and was able to easily add a Dry-Plus rain jacket over the top for added protection. Purchased for 40-55 degree temps and 20-40 mph winds in Patagonia and it should work well as a layer."

"I purchased this jacket about a year ago when the new Cabellas store opened in the Pacific Northwest. I have owned numerous fleece jackets in the past but this is the first wind blocking fleece jacket I have owned and it is by far the best.
Except for a short summer season the weather here is usually windy, cold, and rainy and I have found this jacket to be the one I always look for since it does such a good job of blocking the wind. I just returned from an hour of exercising the dog and even though there was a steady wind and rain I stayed warm and dry the entire time.
I would highly recommend this jacket"

"Seems a little cheap. Not soft and comfortable like my other fleece clothes. I did figure out the the draw cord clasps. You have to press real hard in then it activates the spring. If you don't do this it will seem like they are not working at all. It is not very heavy either. Don't have too high of expectations."

Stiff and oversized,

"For a fleece coat this one has a stiff feeling to it. It is wind proof and does not breathe very well making it hot at times. As a liner it does not work. The stiffness of this coat is not as comfortable as the columbia fleece. It also seems to be very loose in the body and did not fit as I expected. The columbia fleece is much softer as a liner and breathes better on it's own making it more suitable for my needs. I would recommend the columbia steens mountain jacket for comfort."
