Cabelas ATV Windshield,

"Not the easiest installation I ever attempted but not much room on the handlebars of my Honda TRX 420 Rancher for the mounts. However after a lot of fooling with adjustment I can now say the installation is solid and looks good. The windscreen is thin material but is perfectly adequate for the application.
The end result is that I am satisfied and the shield works."

"Very easy to install and adjust. I put mine on a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 700. I love the quick releasing with two hand tightened screws. I made a bracket out of a piece of flat steel, to hold my GPS, that is held in place with the same screw that holds the windshield. I can take it all off and put back on in about 2 minutes !!! I love the fact that it does not vibrate, like some windshields I have seen. Nice product !!!"

"Windshield ok quality, but sloppy metal installation parts. Fitting in my atv requires some modifications. Tried with the ones that came with the package, but gave soon up. Another handicap is that it won't protect all of handlebars like in the picture."

"Very simple install and removal, at first I was leary of flexible windshield and I do not trailer with it installed. However I was very impressed with the flexibility when recently I had to travel thick remote river swamp to retrieve a deer. The windshield flexed and bent as I went under low limbs and through thick brush with out breaking.
It does an excelnt job of deflecting 20 degree winds.
Outstanding product."

"I ordered the windshield for the honda trx. The windshield was plenty sturdy but the set screws continually vibrated loose. I'll purchase some lock-tite and that should fix the problem."

"I found the product easy to install, it provides good body and hand protection against the cold and wind. I would like to see rubber washers included, that would help protect the windshield from cracking at the mounting holes."

"I bought this windshield for a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 500HO. I was not able to get the brackets that mount on the handlebars to work with all the rest of the wiring and such I had there. On one side, my handwarmer switch was in the way and on the other side, my thumbwarmer switch was in the way. If both of those were not there, it may have been a different story.
I ended up returning it to the store."

"Product stated that it would fit my quad.
Brackets that connect to the handlebars would not allow it to fit. The angle that the bracket would be at would prevent it from connecting to the windshield."

"I have the original version of this. The only difference is that mine does not disconnect. I have had it for about 12 years and on 3 different ATV’s (Honda 300, Polaris Sportsman 400) I feel I could not make it without it. It provides protection when riding through the woods and briars. I’ve traveled with it on a trailer from TN to CO several times and the only problem is that while it rides on a trailer it tends to bend. I solved that with a couple of bungee cords. I have cracked it also with a big limb but a little JB weld and I was on my may again. The thing to remember is not to use it a windshield but more as protection from the wind and limbs. If you try to keep it from scratching you’ll go nuts. When I ride my ATV I sit where I can just see over the top of the windshield and if it’s cold out I lean a little left or right to see around it but still stay protected from the wind."

"From here on I will never buy any product that makes the claim "Universal Fit" that is a misnomer. The variations in manufacturing of ATV's precludes the universal fit of windsheilds, unless you are to make adapter kits for year/model, which then drives up the costs."
