Excellent for Desert Camping!,

"I do a lot of camping out in the Southwest Deserts of the United States and for me this tent fit the bill. I needed something that could withstand high winds (this is where the Dome Tents strike out), was comfortable, spacious, and affordable. The Outback Lodge Tent definitely fit the bill perfectly for me. After using it out in the desert for a week long hunting trip I came back very happy with my purchase. So I'll write my review to help out the other people who are considering purchasing this tent.
The Pro's-
I bought the four person tent (8' x 8') and it slept my friend and I comfortably.
It can withstand higher winds than most Dome Tents. The design allows it to hold up to higher winds which is a must if you camp out in the deserts.
Easy setup once you get used to it.
The price is excellent when compared to other tents that are designed to hold up to higher winds.
The Con's-
The zipper on the door is definitely a problem. After reading most of the reviews before I bought, I was fully aware of this problem. I ended up running my finger on the outside of the zipper so it would not get caught up on the rain fly. However I think next time I use it I'll take the advice of taping up the rain fly.
Sometimes it can get a little drafty inside especially when you have a slight breeze.
Some condensation does build up on the inside, however the alternative is a draftier tent so I can deal with it.
The heat tends to escape through the ceiling though the vents.
If you're going to buy this tent, there are a few other items I would definitely recommend getting-
Get the Floor Liner for sure!
Go ahead and toss out the tent spikes that come with it and get some better quality ones. You'll need 23.
Definitely get a tarp or something to place underneath it. Since I camp out in the Southwest deserts this is an absolute must.
Get the Center Pole Accessory Hanger, it fits perfectly on the pole and it's nice to have to hang your battery powered lanterns on.
If you're camping out in the winter, I would definitely recommend getting a heater with a 5+ gallon propane tank to keep nice and warm. There's plenty of ventilation to run a propane heater all night.
Works very well with regular sized cots.
Overall I was impressed with this tent and I'm happy with my purchase. As with every product there's pros and cons and for me the pros outweigh the cons. I give it four stars out of five since I feel there's a few changes needed to make it a perfect tent.

"I have a 12x20 Alaknak II, two center poles and I used to hang my electric lanterns on the loops supplied on the outside walls. This put stress on the seems and I really didn't like doing that to my tent. I could have fabricated this myself, but the ease and utility of this accessory is worth just buying. I couldn't make one any cheaper. I use it for a coat hanger in the day time. Good product."

"Owning a centerpole-supported tent , I wanted a simple way to hang my lantern. The "Accessory Hanger" attaches easily and supports the lanter well. Heighth adjustment is quick and fool- proof. The only caution I would make is it doesn't "hang" well on small diameter poles, although I suppose one could bend it if necessary. Best to check at home first before going camping."
