"The product took over a month to finally arrive. The mounting for this product contains cheap, soft metal bolts. Upon installing for the first time, the allen head rounded. In order to remove, it needed to be drilled out. I contacted Barska about a warranty replacement. They would not honor their one year warranty, and wanted $10 for replacement parts. The bolts themselves could have only cost pennies to replace, and the low weight would have cost next to nothing to ship. Barska refused to budge on the product. After this experience, I will no longer purchase their products. I have purchased other items of theirs, and noted a similar cheapness to their parts. Be warned, these are not quality pieces."

"Sorry, poor product. The hole drilled in the receiver did not have a consistent diameter. I could insert my pin on one side, but not on the other and had to drill it out. Because I did not realize this soon enough in the fitting process, too much was filed off the receiver and it fit poorly. Just when it appears that I would have the scope sighted in, my groups would be off by 4 inches or so. As soon as I was back to iron sights, my groupings were sound and on target. I will probably give it a second try just to confirm its not me, but Im back to iron at this point."

"I had all the problems are the other reviewer had, I think the system would work if the manufacturer made the clearance between the cover and the bolt larger, it was disapointing when the scope mount fit nice and tight but the bolt wouldn't cycle."

"after receiving this as stated i had to file it ..after fileing it at the point . it still did not fit or allow the bolt to retract. more ( grinding ,try, grind etc.)after about an hour of fitting a finaly got it to fit and the bolt to function properly. you need either a gun smith to fit this item properly( and hope he does not over do it ) or a lot of patience. i had t5o grind the point as well as the bottom of the lock hole and the bottom of the unit to get it to fit and function.. the rail for the scope need the screws loctited to make them function.."

"i bought this system with high hopes. boy was i wrong after
2 differnt scope mounts and over 10 hours of fileling and grinding and drilling out the take down pin hole. it never did
fit and after getting a some what iffy fit the bolt would only
slide back 1/2 way and get stuck and the bolt woud jam up
in the receiver and you have to take the whole thing apart
again. i took everything to my local gunsmith and his reply was i seen alot of these and it's the luck of the draw if you get a good scope mount. the casting and milling is very rushed an
not accurat all the time. this is not a great system!!!!"

"Very good scope. Has nice light gathering abilities and the illumanated reticle makes it nice for 1/2 hour before daybreak or 1/2 hour after sunset and with the adjustable reticle brightness, you can set it to the desired brightness that suits you. The adjustable range trajectory knob makes it nice also in that you can change your distance from 100-500 yards without having to rezero after zeroing in at 100 yards."

"The first one sent to us was broken and didn't work at all and had to be sent back. The replacement is not very good. It is not very clear scope. I can't get a clear focus. I am disappointed."

"The first scope I purchased I had a very difficult time mounting it as directed. Then after I got it on the rifle it would never hold a pattern. I fired over 200 rounds and had to adjust it everytime. The scope kept comming loose and I replaced all the screws with locking screws and it made no change it never hit close from one shot to the next. I returned the first scope and was sent a second one. It mounted with very little effort the Screws were of better quility. I have not tried to zero it in yet so we will see if it comes in as needed.

Hope all works well on the second one or it will be returned for a refund."

"for the money, this is the best way to put a scope on your sks. The mount may need to be filed down some to make it fit your rifle, but this makes for a good snug fit. Also, I highly reccommend some loctite to keep the rail from coming loose while shooting. The sks is a pretty accurate rifle and this scope/mount package lets you get the most out of it."

"while i love the sks as a plinker, and while i liked this product, i have come to the conclussion that scoping an sks is about equivalent to scoping a bb gun... fun, but kinda pointless... the mount went on exactly as it was supposed to, the second time i had to buy it, but the fault was my own, due to over grinding. the second mount went on fine after proper amount of machining, which wasn't much at all... probably 5-10 minutes of work start to finish. i took the rifle to the range and got mediocre groups, but the screws kept working loose. i didn't have loctite handy. i imagine that would solve that problem. over all, i have to say i would give this product a good rating, as it was a very sturdy well built product. i would have given it a 5, except the screws loosened after almost every shot"

"the mount is too high, but can be used. the big issue is the fit. you are instructed to file the mount to fit your rifle. i followed the instructions until it fit, then the action of the bolt was jambed. i had to file the bottom to free the action-then the mount was loose and moved side to side and the scope was not accurate. from there i had to add weld back to the original area that i was instructed to file and the file again to fit. i can now sight the rifle, the scope seems ok, but it took a long time and alot of effort. the instructions should be updated and a loer mount would be better."
