"I bought this radio because a friend had one and it worked well. The first one that came in the mail was clearly used and rusty. I bought another one hoping I would have better luck. After a few uses the speaker rusted and it doesn't sound as good as it did in the beginning."

"I love this product, however it is my second one in less than a year. I use it in the shower/bath to listen to my iPod music. It does a really good job of keeping the device dry and the speaker sound is pretty good for a case of this type. The only negative thing, which garners it four stars instead of five, is I have had to replace my original one, in less than a year because the hinges rusted out (and through) due to constant use in water. A big drawback for a "waterproof" item. Of course, once the hinges are rusted out you pretty much can't use it anymore. The manufacturer should consider a more water resistant hinge (plastic maybe?). But, even so, it is such a neat device it was worth replacing when the first one rusted."

"I purchased this item for a trip to the tropics. The batteries would not stay in place so power was disrupted every time the item moved. I finally rigged it so the batteries would stay and power flowed, but the sound was drastically decreased. The minute the waterproof speaker got wet, it stopped working as well. Sure it kept my ipod dry, but I couldn't listen to it either."

"The only real problem with this speaker system is that there is no control of the ipod once you close it up in the water proof box. If it at least had an external power switch to turn it off when you need to interupt the sound, that would make it better."

"I haven't had a chance to use this product much...but would recommend it. The sound is good [for the size of the speaker]. I would have given it 5 stars but there is no way to secure the IPOD inside the box. Also belt clip would be nice, in additition to lanyard."

"Recently, purchase the Waterproof MP3/iPod Sound Case from Cabela's for a river tubing trip. Trip lasted five days and the Sound Case went all five days. I had the Sound Case around my neck while floating the river. The Sound Case was outstanding. The group wants me to bring it back next year. If water gets in the speaker, just wait about 15-20 seconds and the full sound will come back to normal. I put this thing through extreme conditions and it survived. It will use some batteries, but well worth it."
